This place was recommended to us by someone at our hotel based on their proximity as well as availability of gluten-free items. It was a short walk from our hotel. It was very busy when we arrived for a late breakfast. Things were a little chaotic as everyone seemed to be trying to figure out the ordering process. There were menus lying on a table by the door but they weren’t very noticeable. There was a separate menu dedicated to their gluten-free items but it was mixed in with all the others.

Faster than the eye can see! That’s how fast the service is here, but the staff still have time for a smile and a chat. The baked goods are good, the place is nice, but mainly I loved the staff with the twinkle in their eyes, the chatty friendliness, and the sassy t-shirts.

What sets Tatte Bakery apart from others is their commitment to quality ingredients. You can taste the difference in every bite. The flavors are well-balanced, and everything is made with care and precision. It’s clear that the bakers and chefs at Tatte Bakery take pride in their craft.

It was my first time in Washington D.C., friends and I were wandering about as tourists. We were not looking for anything specific, but we sure are glad to have found this place. We showed up at around 11pm and it was quite busy (which resulted in longer customer times – thus earning it a 3 star in that category). This factor excluded though, it was a wonderful experience. I had the ham and cheese croissant, and it was excellent! The atmosphere was great. A very aesthetically pleasing stop if you’re exploring D.C… I recommend it for sure!

The food and service met the usual high Tatte standards. The cafe does get a little loud in the afternoon. Plenty of tables to eat and work at, not many power outlets though. Good wifi!

This place was a perfect stop for our quick sit-down brunch! This bakery has an extremely cute and welcoming atmosphere, the baked goods all look amazing, and the staff was extremely friendly and efficient with our orders.

Very nice place with great coffee and delicious breakfasts. We ordered sandwich with avocado and salmon and also crocque madame. Both were really delicious. We ordered also meringue with raspberries for a dessert- also amazing.

Coffee and pastries were decent. The iced mocha with whole milk is good, but not so good with almond milk. The place is really beautiful, but my big complaint is the people working front of house (cashier and pastry counter). It was my first time in this location, and I was so excited walking in, and even had a smile on my face the whole time. However, pastry counter guy had no smiles whatsoever. I get to the cashier, it’s a different guy, and still no smiles throughout the whole transaction. They both just looked quite fed up with their jobs. I remained kind and after I paid, the guy just looked at me with a blank stare- no “have a good day,” nothing. If you’re working front of house, first impressions are important!

Like stepping into Paris. Great variety, so fresh, and had a hard time deciding. If something you want is out – ASK. I scored the freshest and most beautiful raspberry lemon pavlova because I asked if any were staged to come out. Shortbread is divine with a rich vanilla flavor.
