Chef Jasmine Sheth (she/her) is a James Beard Foundation grant winner & creator of Tasting India; a culinary adventure that aims to showcase the breadth of Indian cuisine. Jasmine grew up in Mumbai and lived in NYC for almost two decades, winning the James Beard Scholarship & moving to Chicago to pursue a career in Hospitality. She has worked at several Boka Restaurant Group venues (Momotaro, Swift & Sons), before venturing out to be a solo entrepreneur and founding Tasting India. Guests can get a culinary backstage pass via her weekly Indian Regional menus (sign up via the website & Instagram @tasting_india). She is also creator of Spice without Borders, creating artisanal, small batch spice blends, teas & coffees, ships all over the US

I am so glad to have found Tasting India! We hired Jasmine for a catering event, and we’re totally blown away. The quality is just top-notch! She created some amazing dishes, pairing ingredients we would never imagine went well together and introducing us to a whole new flavor about it. We were celebrating an anniversary and had 15 people over and she did a white glove service style dinner that was just a perfect way to celebrate. We regularly order Jasmine‘s spices and her weekly meal series. Tasting India does such a good job of introducing us to various cuisines of India, our eyes have been opened beyond chicken tikka masala! We love the focus on quality and new flavors, It’s always an adventure and we look forward to seeing the new menu show up, one thing you have to be careful of is to order quickly because the menus get sold out! We are going to have a summer party and will be engaging her services for a catering event next!

We heard of Jasmine and Tasting India at the Andersonville farmers market, and we stopped by her booth. We tried her Goda masala and the east Indian masala and loved it! We also tried some of her wonderful Samosas and chicken pastries, they were delicious. Recently, we hired Jasmine to cater a birthday event for us and she did not disappoint! She presented us with a five course tasting menu that was a blend of Indian and modern flavors, the service was very professional and presentation was great, we are super happy to have found her!
