Relaxed, elegant restaurant serving locally sourced brunch & New American fare, plus tea & wine.

If I could give it six stars, I would. (I have never said that before). Lisa and team provided excellent service and the food was fantastic. My wife loves the hot tea selections. I had the bone in pork chop and my wife had the lamb. Both were cooked to perfection. I loved the sauce chef created for the chop. Sides were excellent
We also had raw oysters, tomato cream soup, pot de crème and crème brûlée. All fantastic.

T at the General Store is an absolute gem! I have been three times – twice for brunch, once for dinner. Everything has been consistently great across the board. If you can catch Sunday brunch, don’t miss the pancakes. We went for dinner for the first time tonight and loved everything from the apps to sides to mains to dessert. The crab cakes and bread pudding were particular stand-outs. It’s worth the drive from any of the nearby towns!

First time here. Fairly noisy. It’s a smallish place with hard surfaces and a “tin” ceiling so more noise than normal. They had wine but no beer, cider, etc. The food was good but not “Very” good. The brined pork loin came cooked the same whether it was ordered medium rare or medium. It was more like medium/medium-well. The saltiness was very forward to the point of being a bit of a distraction. The Tuscan Airplane chicken risotto was very good and the mashed potatoes were a good substitute for the unspectacular macaroni and cheese. The service was very good. The food arrived reasonably quickly and we were checked on several times along with water refresh. Overall it was a nice place with better than average food but not much. Our plan is to wait for a menu change and try again.

While practically empty when we arrived, we quickly realized that it was good that we’d called ahead. Energetic environment with a nice mix of modern and nods to the old country store.
We were very well taken care of by Lisa, who provided good suggestions, was patient with elderly parents, attentive, and personable. We look forward to coming back again.
We tried and could recommend: shrimp and grits (A+), chicken w/risotto and green beans, salmon cakes, butternut squash soup, ginger blend tea, pumpkin bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, and flour less chocolate tort with side of vanilla ice cream.

This might be my second review ever but I am compelled to sing the praises of this hidden and often forgotten gem. We rediscovered the T a few months ago and it is now in our regular rotation with two other exempt restaurants. Food is excellent. The servers are fabulous. We love going early and catching up with them. Awesome Old-Fashioneds ladies! The only star i took away was atmosphere. Most bizarre, uncomfortable seating ever. But you should try it!

This is hands down the best food on the Eastern Shore. It is a quintessential Chesapeake establishment; with its unassuming and modest interior, the whole meal ironically pairs very well with the outstanding food and service. Much like all good things around here, quality is valued over flashiness and that’s exactly what I love about this place. This goes without saying, the prepared the best rockfish I’ve ever had in my life.

We were traveling by car from Montreal and we stopped in several places in the US. This was by far the best restaurant we tried! Delicious food and an amazing service! There are not words enough to describe my excellent experience!!!

First time trying this amazing restaurant. It is definitely a hole in the wall place but service is great. Food was delicious and it is reasonably priced! We made a reservation and when we got there, only two cars in the parking lot. So we asked if we could sit early and we could. Our waitress, Susan was very nice and prompt. I got the chai tea, I definitely recommend! My grandmother got the eggs benedict. She said that she has never had better, very good! I got the French toast on brioche. It was delicious! It was such a beautiful atmosphere, and around noon more people decided to come. I would definitely come here again!

What a gem! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Got the shrimp and grits after reading reviews and the waitress’ recommendation. Was not disappointed, best ever shrimp and sauce over the creamiest grits!

Everything on the menu is delicious. This is our second time here and, with 5 people each time, I think we tried just about everything. Our favorites were the beef stew, the rib eye, the stuffed chicken, the bread pudding and the creme brûlée. Definitely save room for dessert, as it was fantastic. They mix a really good cocktail as well! Do yourself a favor and go!
