I would like to start with a disclaimer that you can spend a lot of money at this restaurant, however there is still plenty to enjoy on a budget! Whether you’re coming for a party, casual lunch or a special occasion you will leave Sushi Gakyu feeling appreciative of the friendly staff and their great services to the customers.

Maybe we came too late in the evening or had too high expectations for this place. While each piece generally for the Edo Nigiri and Gakyu Assorted Sushi were pretty good, the toro seemed to have a ligament and was far from the clean butter like softness of great toro. We would like to give this place a second chance but are hesitant. We hear it’s better in January and February

The service at this place is consistently genuine. The staff is friendly and hardworking. The sushi is great. We often enjoy the chirashi because of the preparation and melt-in-your-mouth sashimi.

Fabulous. I ordered the Gakyu Sushi Dinner (pictured here). A great selection with excellent cuts of super fresh fish. I felt the $40 price for this dinner was fair given the quality. Great Saki selection as well.

Chef Yoshison is a true professional.. the price reflects the quality of the fish. service was excellent. If you want quality try this restaurant. For the full experience order omakase (ask how the fish should be eaten.)
