The meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and the rib tips. The rib tips were outstanding and the portions for all were a great size. We tried 4 of their sides: mac and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, and spicy green beans. The coleslaw was the FRESHEST coleslaw of any place I have ever eaten at. Ever. Would definitely visit this place again. And again. Incredibly good BBQ. Highly recommend.

OMG! Best food ever! My husband ordered rib tips and I ordered brisket. Both were so good and tender. The baked beans were so good, I literally drank the juice from my container after I ate the beans. Don’t tell anyone.

Was just driving into Frankfort to look for a bite to eat and steer hogs popped up as a recommendation. Stopped in and its a nice looking place with a solid menu. Got the pulled pork and french fries. Both were great! I should have done a better job reading the menu as I saw they have a lot of great BBQ items. I guess I’ll have to come back and start working through it!

Hard to find good bar-b-que that’s not a franchise in the Frankfort area. I prefer rib tips in hot sauce and I was not disappointed, they were generously meaty with just the right amount of fat. The portion was enough for two and I get extra hot on my platter making sure they smother the steak cut fries too. The sauce has a bit of a kick but not so overpowering that you can’t taste sauce. Baked beans are fabulous and the slightly sweet corn muffin is the ultimate topper. The platter is one of the best deals around for bbq and there is enough for two. I highly recommend and the dining area is aptly decorated and comfortable. Can’t wait to go back!!

My wife and I thought we would try the ribs. Went and picked them up for dinner. I wish I never ordered from there. The meat was not cooked well and pretty pink plus no sauce on the ribs which they were very dry and no flavor. The Mac & Cheese was also very dry and bla. For the price of the food it should have been a lot better. I will not be a returning customer.

I love BBQ and have been looking for a place to get lean brisket near me in New Lenox. I stopped at Steerhogs after seeing an article in the local paper, and the owner, Mark, explained the process of cooking the brisket and offered their options of lean brisket vs. fatty brisket. Steerhogs offers both! We ordered lean brisket, pulled pork, rib tips, and their spicy green beans. My husband stated that everything was outstanding, and I fully agree!

Very disappointed….ordered brisket, and chicken. Both very bland and dry with absolutely no hint of smoke. I will say the beans were very good though. Also, I have never been to bbq joint that I was unable to order bbq meat in smaller increments than a full pound.
