I visited this restaurant on 9/7 at 1:14 A.M (see receipt) after the Zach Bryon concert. Obviously is was packed and under staffed. That wasn’t the problem at all though. I ordered and after 30 minutes realized they weren’t going to get the order out. I wasn’t mad at all, I felt bad for the crew, they were completely overwhelmed. So, I asked if I could get a refund. Worker said take a picture of the receipt and call back the next day as he didn’t know how to do a refund.
I did this, I called 4 different times since then and keep getting the run around that the owner isn’t in, don’t know how…..etc.
I told them I was withholding a bad review because I just want my money back, I didn’t get the food and I’m not mad at all about it. Just keep getting the run around . *Edit, It’s been a week with no response. This isnt some opinion of a customer,It’s a clear cut issue that should have been resolved.

Our two favorite burger joints are In-N-Out and Steak ‘n Shake. This particular location in Elkhart, Indiana, was FIL-THY. After ordering from a kiosk, I passed up six tables that—while cleared of trash—were not washed clean on their surfaces. I had to use two wet wipes to wash our table. After waiting several, SEVERAL minutes, my husband went to the kitchen and asked the status of our food. My order was incorrect, and they did correct it. Our food was delicious, but the knowledge that filthy, unswept floors, a filthy kitchen/food prep area, and my husband looked into the sink behind the pick-up counter. . . disgusting. How does this restaurant stay open? We were traveling, and when we left there, we muttered, “I can’t believe we decided to stay there and eat. . .” Thankfully we never will again. Very poor first impression. And last.

Had 3 meal’s….. 1 meal they was having trouble with. We sat 35 minutes bfor they brought 2 of the meal’s an they we’re cold finally got last meal 15 minutes later…
Made an online order at 708 while we was waiting for our meals.. I ordered 3 l shake’s app said they’d b ready in 7 to 12 mins…. Long story short we finally got those at 752

Chill place, fun staff, great vibes! I like the route 66 napkins, the burgers and shakes and fries are yummy, and the place is super clean and well-lit. It’s open ’till 2 AM, and great for traveling groups.

This restaurant is SUPER CLEAN, my family and I were all very impressed with the cleanliness of this restaurant! The food is pretty good! It may take a few extra minutes to get your order but that’s just because its fresher that a typical fast food chain. So we were happy to wait for fresh, delicious food in a clean environment.

I heard the burgers and fries were good here but I was very disappointed. The double cheeseburgers were small and greasy and the fries had an odd taste to them.
Also, they don’t really interact with you because everything is ordered through a kiosk (be careful as they still try to get you to tip them when checking out).
I was also surprised that the men’s room was dirty and smelled bad on a quiet Monday evening. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Stopped in here for a quick dinner before calling it a night after driving from MN. There are no cashiers so all ordering is done via a large touch screen. The employee who brought our tray to our table was kind and friendly. The burger was good and piping hot. The chicken fingers were less than stellar. Mildly warm coming out. The fries were tiny thin cut so sort of fun compared to other places. We had an mint Oreo shake which was good. The only big downfall was how sticky the floors were. The bottom of my shoes literally stuck to the floor as I walked out. Other than that the service was good and the food was fast food quality.

It’s a SnS, what’s not to love? This location though, the staff were very friendly and kind. Like memorable levels of kind.
One note, if you’re traveling with kids and you stop and get them shakes. Ask them to put them into to-go cups. Especially if you know they can’t finish them quickly.

Haven’t ate at steak n shake in years. Recently tried their shake for the first time in 20 years. Wow! Delicious and affordable. Tried lunch there today and for 5.99 the double cheese and fries are so good for the money! So happy to have found a new place to give my money to besides McDonald’s and burger king.
