Listen, I have been trying to find good Soul Food since I moved to Virginia. 8 yrs ago! I found it! I ordered Turkey wings with Mac N cheese and Collards. Everything was SO GOOD!! They took a little long to make it but the taste made up for it!!!! Very good!

We noticed this gem “Soul Good” located at 1805 Hodges Ferry Rd. Portsmouth, VA while filling one of our 7-Eleven locations near them off of Airline Blvd. and glad that we did. From the moment we walked in as smooth jazz was playing we noticed nothing was short of amazing from their warm heartfelt welcome upon entry to the delicious food served at the buffet bar. Yes…a buffet bar!!! And after talking with the Chef, we learned that the buffet is never the same just like the soul food buffets down in the lower states. Seeing how everything looked amazing and that the fried catfish and fried chicken tenders from the brunch buffet on Sunday tasted scrumptious, it is safe to assume that any choice they decide to put on the buffet will be a good one. Wish we had time to sit and really enjoy Soul Good but we had other stores to fill and needed something we could eat on the go. We did get a chance to speak with the owners before we left to let them know that they did a wonderful job and we couldn’t wait to return. Note, they also had a beautiful drink bar. Trust us and stop by today.

Very pleasant, employees were very nice. Made sure we were given everything we needed. Food is wonderful. Great combo of a bit of everything from grits to potatoes, eggs, fish, chicken, biscuits and gravy. The selection of flavors for the mamosas we’re so tasty. Felt just like home.

Came in today and had a rib sandwich and some Mac and cheese and collard greens. The rib sandwich was ot of this world!!! The mac and cheese was perfect and I’m picky about my mac yo. My friend got the crab cakes with fried cabbage and seasoned rice. I got some hot honey sticky wings with fries to take home. That didnt make it half way home. They were incredible. I need more. Everything was amazing. That cabbage was like nothing we have ever had. The service was great. The environment was nice and quiet. All around great spot. Will be back for sure!!!

I first tried your food at a birthday party that you catered. I thoroughly enjoyed everything there. Then on my parentals’ wedding anniversary, I treated them to food from your restaurant. My mom and I came to the restaurant and picked the food up. Extremely good. On Thursday, of this week, I ordered using DoorDash for myself and my patient. My patient was so excited. She said she hadn’t had shrimp that good since leaving Florida and that was years ago. The one downside, my patient and I really wanted the fried calamari that was shown on DoorDash, but y’all no longer served that item. But you did substitute, but both of our mouths was craving that calamari. Peace and blessings to you and the family.
