This store has a lot of opportunity. Customers drive from around the region for the nostalgia Sonic brings and their exclusive offerings. Owner, please offer a higher base pay so that you can attract competent abd well-mannered employees. The reviews should be a clear indication that change is needed.
My experience is a lot like the experience of others, so I will summarize for time sake. Although I was the only car in drive-thru, I waited 8 minutes before I was addressed. I had a long order, and asked for it to be repeated to ensure accuracy. I asked several times, but I guess the order taker was not interested in repeating the order. So after waiting several minutes to be acknowledged at the speakdr, I drove up to the window and waited 12 minutes to pay. In that time, one of the employees had handed food to her boyfriend in the car that had pulled up behind me, several minutes after I arrived. Then, once I was finally addressed, I asked her if she would repeat the order to ensure accuracy due to the size of the order. Her rendition was correct although her attitude was palpable. The order finally came out some time later, I felt the need to verify the order before pulling off, and of course it was entirely incorrect. It had all of the severe allergens that I specifically asked to not be included. I politely notified the young lady of the error, even taking responsibility for their failure in an attempt to lighten the mood, and she rolled her eyes and scoffed, as if it wasn’t their fault.
The gentlemen cooking came back with the correct order and a highly agressive demeanor. However, he was also a child and I felt it unnecessary to engage or discuss the matter with him, and I did not see any adults on duty. To make matters worse, the meat was cold and undercooked. I wound up tossing the entire order in the trash before pulling away. I would rather waste my time and money than to potentially expose my family to contaminated and undercooked food.
Obviously, I will not be returning to this location, and unfortunately, based on the lack of customers during rush hour, and the horrible reviews, many people are also choosing to skip this location as well.
Readers, you’ve been warned: skip this location. There’s a Checkers next door with none of these issues and great customer service.

Update. Gave them a second chance food was good. Actually got my burger this time and it was tasty. Adjusting rating to be more fair.
How do you forget the burger from a burger combo? Like that is comically absurd. Bag was sealed, everything else was there, it was _on the printed receipt taped to the bag as part of the seal_, and yet no burger.
OTOH the tots were good, and the drink was as well. Just wish I could tell you how the burger tasted.

Sonic on Dual Highway offers quick service and classic fast-food favorites. The drive-in setup is convenient, and the staff is usually friendly. Burgers and slushes hit the spot, though consistency can vary. Great for a casual bite or late-night snack. Prices are reasonable, but expect a wait during peak hours. Overall, a solid stop for comfort food cravings.

I decided to come by to this Sonic this past saturday since it’s been five years i’ve had their food. when I tried it the first time I surprised how good it was. however, my second try i was very disappointed. I was waiting for over 15 minutes just to receive my fries nearly empty and dumped in a bad, they forgot my shake, they forgot my third fries, and both my cherry limeade tasted water downed. To top it off, my shake tasted like expired milk. It’s unacceptable. I understand if they were understaffed but it does not mean that this establishment can serve their customers food this way especially if i’m paying a pretty penny in this economy. I don’t blame the employees but the establishment and management. This location will never ever see me again. Please save yourself the time and money. also, please consider the low rating reviews. they aren’t exaggerating at all.

Food was ok but they waited until they brought the order out to tell us they didnt have the slush flavor I ordered so they had to go back in and make a drink. Slushes weren’t mixed up at all – just had the flavor dumped in the bottom. Then none of the card readers at the car hop spots weren’t working so had to wait for her to take the card inside to run it. First and probably last time at this location.

Oh my word if ever I had the worse service it would be here! I can’t believe milkshake could taste so bad! First of all I went to place my order and the lady was hard of hearing clearly my order was completely wrong! For some reason she heard chocolate strawberry milkshake and I was like why is two of my milkshakes looking brown and one is white! I repeated my order so many times and she still got my order completely wrong! In Virginia they never got my order wrong but this lady kept asking me what I wanted and let me tell you I doubt someone would order a strawberry pieces chocolate milkshake. Even though I said classic shake and 1 hot fudge, 1 chocolate, 1 strawberry she mixed it all up! It was awful I will not be going back there EVER!!!

Decided to give sonic another try after a terrible drive through expierence last week (waited over 15 minutes for a kids corn dog meal, ended up leaving without my food because we got tired of waiting)…
Put in the order online amd checked into a spot. Moments after check in the employee informed us that they were out of ice cream mix ins we ordered. We selected others but those were out too. Omini was extremely kind, apologetic, personable and as accommodating as possible.
This sonic always seems to be out of many items, have slow service and most of the time, employees that seem like they can’t be bothered, but Omini is the exception. 5 stars for Omini, not sonic!

We came to this location today 21OCT2025 because it was empty so we figured no wait. We placed our order and nearly 30 mins went by and still did not have our order. We walked up to the window to cancel the order and behold our order was sitting in the window. The cashier or whatever they are referred to as caught an attitude for no reason. Her name was Ava was very rude about the order, very unpleasant and couldn’t be bothered apparently. We will not come back to this location and spread the word for others to do the same……..Checkers is next door by the way and their Bacon DBL Cheeseburger is really good.

Started a timer as we pulled into the drive thru. It took about 15 minutes from pulling in to getting food. It looks like they only had 3 employees today. Tater tots were barely cooked well enough for consumption, the corn dog was… Unevenly cooked. It tasted off. And the #5 combo the Super Sonic Bacon Double Cheeseburger was… Less than superb. Not even a full strip of bacon… If you can even call it that? It’s like a half mini strip. One single piece. It tasted rather lackluster, it tasted severely undercooked as well. The mozzarella sticks seem slightly undercooked. The carhop or window cashier, Kaitlyn, did most of the work, it most certainly isn’t her fault, they are very understaffed.

Worst Sonic I have ever visited. That is dirty oil in the bag of onion rings. When was the last time they changed it? Seeing the onion rings themselves was bad enough, but dirty oil in the bag too… Disgusting. The picture of the burger says everything. I was refunded for sure.
