My husband and I couldn’t stop saying how good it was! All of the vegetables tasted fresh and he said the eggplant in his was the best he’s had. All in all some of the best Thai we’ve had. Great service, we loved Sombat and the gentleman there helping at the counter. Great food, everything was perfect and the dessert is a must. I was even impressed it came with a nicer bag to carry it with since we got carry out. It had dine in when we went. There was plenty of parking and it’s toward the road around back like the signs say.

My goodness! What a gem! We ordered about 30 mins before close & not only did they accommodate us, but they even added extras. They were so kind and hospitable. Food was ready fast, even when we added fried spring rolls at check out. I had a noodle dish which was good, average Thai to me. However, the yellow curry was AMAZING. Best curry I’ve ever had and has some special flavor I couldn’t put my finger on (cardamom maybe?). Idk. She also added a tapioca coconut pudding that is the stuff of dreams. So good. Food portions were big. Only feedback is the Thai tea was smaller than I expected, but everything else was 5 stars! Great!

The staff was really friendly and nice. Pad thai was my favourite, pineapple rice(curry source) was for my husband.

This is one of two best Thai restaurants in Hilo. I’m a dedicated Thai Food affectionate…and 8 year local resident. Just trust me…This place and Tina’s Garden Cafe are the only two places I go to at this point. Give it a whirl!!!

Great Thai food place, taste was unique, fresh, scratch made food. Great staff, eco-friendly, the grow some of their hebs. Place it’s a little bit small, but no big deal. Restrooms are out side of the restaurant, not to close tho.

After a long day exploring Volcanoes Nat’l Park, we were hungry and looking for a delicious and filling meal. Sombat’s did not disappoint! I was bummed to see that they only offered takeout, but I was too tired to keep searching for somewhere else to eat, plus places were starting to close. We gladly ordered takeout and took it back to our hotel. My husband ordered the pad see ew and I ordered the pineapple curry, and we shared the papaya salad. Oh my goodness, was the food ever delicious!! The portions were extremely large – it was the largest papaya salad I’ve ever seen and my husband and I both enjoyed eating as much as we wanted, whereas typically we divide it equally and enjoy a sampling at other restaurants. The pineapple curry had such great, rich flavor and I ate to my hearts content and still have leftovers for another meal. My husband likewise enjoy his noodles and has leftovers. There are plenty of options for Thai food on the island, but I can promise this won’t disappoint and will be an excellent choice if you opt to eat here!

Frequently take out only! Check the website before you go! The full menu is online and take-out runs about 15-25 minutes. I usually try to order right at 4 for pick up. I love their pad Thai and curries, and the coconut soup and spring rolls are awesome. Satay is on point as well. Not many misses here!! While pricey, we usually get two entrees and an app and that’s plenty for two meals for two people. Leftovers heat up well. I would love it if they would switch to more eco-friendly containers, but hot food is tricky!

They are takeout only for now, from 4-8p. Ordered green papaya salad which was refreshingly delicious, Kang Penang with chicken was also yummy, and pad Thai with shrimp. All were very good and their medium has nice authentic heat. They even let you select Thai style hot. I’ve been to Thailand and Thai hot level is very hot so your are forewarned. When I asked for medium, he told me their medium is quite hot but that’s what we wanted. It was perfect for us. The portions are very generous and we could barely make a dent. Good value for your money and recommend this lovely business. Order!
