Everything was delicious. Started with some chips and guacamole, 4/5. A little on the limey side but really smooth. Their mangorita was nice, truly tasted like mango. My fiance had the chicken mofongo and the flavor was amazing. For dessert we shared a slice of tres leches cake and that was the real star. The bottom layer was caramelized and delicious. Our waiter Jose was delightful, will definitely be coming back!

Latin food, many dishes I know from PR. El pastelon de pollo was espectacular, the salad it comes with, very yummy and fresh. The grilled chicken was simple but delicious, specially because of the sofrito, house recipe. The yucca mofongo was very good although the chicken was a bit dried. But the pork belly was deliciously crunchy. The tacos were good. The wood benches are a bit hard for sitting very long but the whole place feels fresh. To repeat.

Very tasty food. They’ve done their own take on a Cuban sandwich. The pork is seasoned in a sauce like mixture. We’re more of the typical Cuban sandwich, so a bit disappointed tho the flavors were there. Their grilled chicken bowl was delicious! It comes with cabbage which is lightly sautéed! Yummy! If you pay with a cc, they are passing this charge on to the customers. So, we had to pay $1 more for the use of our cc. Thought only gas stations did that? But guessing it’s a small business? Still a bit tacky.

This place is absolutely delicious! My husband and I just recently moved here and miss our favorite Cuban restaurant in San Diego. We were so happy to find Sofrito! This is our new favorite spots. We tried the Mofongo which we had never had before. The flavors were so amazing and the owner was so nice. He gave my husband a sangria on the house for no reason just to be nice. Can’t wait to go back!!
