For our first downtown Greenville dining experience, this was disappointingly underwhelming. The food was just okay: the flavor of the shrimp and grits was good; the specialty salad was different than I expected and okay. The restaurant was SO LOUD we could barely converse at our table. The server was pleasant and helpful with our party’s need to consider gluten-free options. They did seem understaffed as they were covering more tables than allowed them to be attentive. Prices were very reasonable.

Great menu chock full of many wonderful choices. Nice cornbread to the table to start. The brisket was very good, as were the sides, the loaded potato cake was outstanding. Half price wine bottles that night was a nice surprise.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait maybe 15 minutes. We were seated outside upon our request. The guy who waited on us was super friendly and attentive. The food did take forever to come out, but that wasn’t his fault. The shrimp and grits were some of the best I’ve had in Greenville. The ribs, beer butt chicken, and brisket were not the best but still good. The Mac and Cheese is nothing special. The bake beans with brisket tasted like caned beans with no brisket. The adult drinks are nice and strong. It’s worth a try.

Hubby and I were in town for a couple of hours and stopped here to eat. First mistake. When I reached out to a local friend and she described this place as “decent” that should’ve been my cue. I ordered fried catfish, greens and baked beans with brisket. None of it had flavor or a lick of seasoning. This is not cornmeal style breading like southerners eat. It was almost tempura style in consistency and texture. My husband had shrimp (remove the tails yourself) and grits and was rather pleased. We also ordered the sausage platter which was served cool- almost cold. No heat or warmth to be found. The desserts- fried bread pudding and fruit crisp (we were told peach but received berry- only the topping was eaten)- were beautiful but fell short on flavor. The fried banana’s Foster was pretty good. But we only ate the pastry portion. All in all, if you want shrimp n grits and bananas foster, try them. I personally wouldn’t go back.

The food was delicious. I had the salmon. It was juicy and flavorful with a hint of sweetness. I didn’t like the fried green tomatoes. My friend had squash casserole that was great and crab cakes…very tasty! The spinach dip was just okay…kind of runny.

We did call ahead seating for two and were seated about 30 minutes after arrival. The restaurant was very busy due to a Softball Team party of thirty and the Jehovah Witness Convention in town. With all the hustle and bustle our entrees were prompt, perfect temperature, and tasty. When back in Greenville we will definitely go back.

We definitely enjoyed our visit. We have been talking about eating here for quite some time and were coming to an event at the peace center and decided to give it a try. Very busy but we were seated quickly. Definitely a downtown feel. Service was great, food was awesome! The best part is the prices were very reasonable for a downtown restaurant. Will definitely be back. I had the ribeye and my wife had the pimento medallion filet. We had the baked beans, squash casserole, potato salad, and cole slaw. All were amazing.

We were there for a convention in downtown so needless to say this place was swamped. Despite that, they weren’t exceptional in every way! All drinks were half of including craft beer. (They had a good selection too). The staff were great. Katelyn was an amazing server. The food was delicious. We had the salmon meal, chicken salad, and brisket plate. All of us were very happy. You will not be disappointed if you come here. P.S After your meal you can take a walk along the river and enjoy the falls and shops. There’s even a Shakespear in The Park event during the summer.

The meat is so tasty it doesn’t even need the sauce. Mixing the yellow Mustard one with the sweet one is the best combo sauce. The moody blues drink is my fave. Second time here visiting from Michigan.
