Social Profile:

It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round. Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood! At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.

Informal chain outpost offering a variety of fried seafood dishes & an oyster bar.

Food was delicious and Jen was very courteous. The prices were not too bad and you definitely get plenty to eat. The Pineapple Express was great and you get to keep the cup. There is cooling fans outside that mist water in hot weather. The location is convenient next to souvenir shops snd many other businesses.

I’ve eaten at 2 other Shrimp Baskets and it’s always been one of our favorites. The food is usually really good and they have the best gourmet hot sauce.

Awesome steamed shrimp platter! In fact the first half pound was so good that I needed an additional half pound! The manager on duty last night was delightful and very accommodating. She made me feel welcome and was more than willing to answer my questions. Thanks for the wonderful dining experience!

We learned about this place and the good food from being delivery drivers. We decided to try it for dinner. Jen was our server and she was great! The food and music amazing, and we even brought our dog and dined outside on the patio with her

The catfish and crab cake were both good. My kids had popcorn shrimp and fries! Of course, hush puppies are always a favorite in my book

On 8/19/2023, my family and I dined. For starters, we had a bad food experience at Hangouts (another Gulf restaurant), which made us hesitant to try this place. Shrimp Basket was incredible, I must say. They were able to seat my family of 14 immediately (we sat at different tables, which was fine with us). My husband and I couldn’t decide what to order and ended up getting the wings and fries (southern style), popcorn shrimp basket, gumbo (which was lacking in shrimp and sausage but tasted good), and shrimp skewers. Normally, I take photos, but this was so good that I forgot. Nicole was our server, and she was excellent. She was attentive and provided excellent customer service. Definitely recommend.

We arrived at Gulf Shores exhausted so had Door Dash bring us dinner. Only some of it was edible, but we needed some real food, not road trip food. The burger, quesadilla and chicken strips were inedible. So. Very. Dry. And just blech. The fried pickles were so-so. The fish and chips was the best of the order, and by that I mean we actually ate it. The coconut shrimp could’ve been anything, but the sauce made it easier to get down. The pie was fine. It wasn’t sublime or anything. The earth didn’t move when I tried it. Definitely very limey. We have a Door Dash subscription so there was no delivery fee. The entire meal, plus tip, was $102. I should’ve just set my money on fire.

The food was exquisite and the service was phenomenal (shout out to Michelle for being amazing!). A fun fact that we learned is that this was the original location from the 90s. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and was fast. Definitely a must visit when in town!

We really enjoyed the Shrimp Basket on our vacation. Desi was our server, and she had EXCELLENT service! The place was busy, but service did not suffer one bit. Drinks were kept full, Desi was super helpful at assisting us with making our dinner choices. The food came out hot, and was delicious. I had the fried combo. Catfish & Flounder. The portions were more than I expected. Fried pickles, fried crab claws, steamed shrimp were all delicious (our party shared some items). We will definitely return on our next trip.

I’ve been here a few times and have felt welcomed every visit! I’m from out of state and have enjoyed the southern hospitality and great, flavorful recommendations each time. The manager, Cristy, and server, Shantel, have been a delight to be around and offer new items off their menu and have not disappointed once! I plan to be a frequent flyer when I’m in the area. Will recommend to all.
