Sazón is a family-owned restaurant, inspired by the recipes from our great-grandmother, Maria Olinda. Sazón Peruvian Cuisine fuses different stages from our country’s history; ranging from the ancient Inca empire through the Spanish conquest, which brought slaves from Africa and China. Further influences came through Italian and Japanese – following World War 2 – immigrants, blending indigenous foods of Peru and cooking methods of four continents into a unique culinary experience.

The packaging and presentation of the food is nice. The food is pretty tasty, a little bland for Peruvian cuisine, but still lacks flavor. The wait staff was also a little rude. Overall I was disappointed, as the portions were not enough for the price.

Only tried the ceviche here: Tiradito and Ceviche Mixto. The ceviche is fresh and tasty. The tiradito was yummy, although it’s not a typical ceviche I’m normally use to. I prefer the ceviche mixto, as it had a variety of fresh seafood, and it was what I’m familiar with. Next time, I would like to try the Ceviche Nikei. The Chicha Morada (pervuvian punch) was a nice refreshing drink, that had a nice warmth from the cinnamon.

I almost want to give this no stars just to keep you away. But that would be a lie. The food here is amazing. I had things I’ve never had before, and that just doesn’t happen to me much anymore. And it was all excellent. Friendly service, great plating, gracious host, good & reasonable wine list. It’s slow. But relax, you’re supposed to be enjoying yourself.

OMG—started with beef empanadas and the pisco sour cocktail, then a lunch special grilled plantation crusted quinoa burger on ciabatta. Obv I am not a vegan, but would order this again and again. Even the fries were the best ever including a lime chipotle mayo dip that tasted like truffles. The food is just phenomenal, with so many incredible flavors and textures. This is a special spot!

As always, the ceviche was to die for. We love the clasico but recommend trying the mango shrimp as well. The owner is such a nice guy and makes sure you feel welcome and have everything you need. If you haven’t tried this place you need to.

I will give them a 4 because the food is amazing. But the experience in the restaurant is not the best. The place need to do better for a 5. If you don’t care about the place the food is a 5. Everything we ordered was good. Empeñadas could be better. Service is ok. They could also be better in that.

Delicious flavor on the meat, vegetables, rice and sauce. Even the Portuguese beer was full of flavor for a lager. Service was quick but not much follow-up on refills or if anything else was needed.
