The food here is absolutely delicious, and the staff is very friendly. We were there for lunch, and despite my mom not being a fan of sushi or raw food, we decided to order some cooked rolls, Bento and Ramen for the table. Surprisingly, my mom found everything to be delicious and even opened her mind about sushi. Spicy Edamame was a hit to start off. Our server, Nook, was friendly and attentive.

Sagano Sushi is a family run sushi restaurant near downtown Oak Park. There were three in our party and we were all looking forward to midweek sushi. This place is not cheap with an average roll cost over $15. We started with grilled chicken skewers, the spicy crunch tuna roll and Rainbow roll. Son ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. Both were very good and I would recommend both. The Rainbow roll was tasty. crunch on the other hand, was a bit dry. The rolls were very pretty to look at but a bit chewy. I would return again but order something different or maybe another noodle soup.

I love that I can stop by anytime for one thing and end up eating more than I can handle! Their sushi is delicious and does not take long to be made. I came in over the summer specifically for sushi but ended up doing their Lunch Special. It was a good deal and great portions.

First time here and probably won’t return. Had the teriyaki lunch special which came out to roughly $15. The portion size was not very generous but certainly enough to not be hungry afterward (I get full pretty quickly for context). Overall, the speed and quality of the service were both great. However the taste of the food was nothing special. I would say your calories and money could probably be better spent + stretch farther elsewhere or by choosing another menu item.

This place was awesome, small little spot with authentic staff, simple atmosphere and a quaint bar. What shined was the food, fresh rice and adventurous flavored rolls, small touches of flair on old favorites and some flavorful inventive drinks. The friendly staff made sure we had a blast. The spicy honey tuna roll was a delicious surprise, and the best octopus I’ve had In a while. Prices seem to have understandably increased recently, but still well worth the value. Will definitely make time to return next time I’m in the city.

I had the lunch special with a side order of takoyaki, had to send the takoyaki twice because the center was ice cold. The rest of the lunch special was cooked adequately.

Sadly, the quality has gone down since the new management has taken over. We used to be weekly customers, but no more. It’s sad, they had the best sushi in town but no longer. The tempura is soggy or non existent. The sizes are inconsistent. The taste and consistency of the rice has changed and is not good. Truly gross.
