Our Story Ristorante Carpaccio opened for business in Menlo Park, California, in 1988. After a highly successful career with Budget Rental Car, this was the first of many restaurants opened by Aaron Ferer, including Capellini, Buffalo Grille, Joanne’s, and Barley & Hopps in San Mateo and Tuscany, L’Avenue, Franck’s and Emelia’s in Salt Lake City. Aaron chose Ciya Martorana to manage and welcome the community to Carpaccio and in return the community embraced Ciya. Executive management is provided by Sandra Ferer. Many of our loyal and professional staff have been with us since the beginning and some staff have worked at all of our California locations, including our talented Chef, Chay Mendez, for over 20 years.

The one and only. A classic old-school, old town wonderful Italian restaurant. I have had easily 100+ meals here over the last 20 years and it is and remains my old-school favorite. It is the go-to for family dinners, girlfriends night out or anytime you are hungry for some “home-cooking: And, the staff — they are always an A+++ Highly recommend.

Good food. I enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs. I don’t remember the name of the drink I had but it was excellent. I will go back. It was a good experience overall. I usually don’t get to frequent South Bay eateries but I have it marked as a spot to go when I’m in the South Bay.

Disappointing food and dangerous staff. Ordered a simple risotto with salmon and was served greasy fish with a rice pilaf. Asked the server if it was their risotto and he confirmed. We also got to see an overserved woman stumble out of the restaurant. We later found her in the parking lot lost looking for her car and obviously still drunk. We told the staff who helped her find her car directly across the street and allowed her to drive away. Family has been coming here for years, but this was the last trip.

I was intrigued and delighted with the BOMBETTA DI PARMIGIANO. Absolutely delicious. Nice wines to select from. This truly is a romantic spot to bring a date. Service was a little slow but reminded me of a European dinner experience and allowed for a lot of really good conversation.
