A sister store to Rick’s Crab Trap on Eglin Parkway with waterfront dining and great sunsets. We bring over 30 years of serving the gulf coast to our new Okaloosa Island restaurant. With a fresh catch menu that changes everyday depending on what’s in season or what’s been brought in that morning. We specialize in locally caught fish, shrimp, and oysters from all over the gulf coast. Rick’s also serves alaskan crab legs and homemade desserts, for those with a sweet tooth. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rick’s on the Island,while on vacation with the family, and let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. The food was beyond amazing, especially their Boom Boom Tacos and Bacon Cheddar Jalapeño Char-Grilled Oysters. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left me wanting more. I have to say, the highlight was when Sean was the cook—the dishes he prepared were simply outstanding.

I’ve been coming to the area for 20 plus years and usually eat at pretty much the same places each time I come. Decided to give this place a try. I must admit, my first to go order was great, I had the Blackened Shrimp Skewers and potatoes. No problems. So I tried it one more time and was tremendously disappointed. I ordered the crab soup, which was quite good to the contrary, however, I also ordered the crab and Shrimp steamer. The shrimp were straight and so were the vegetables, but the crab was grossly overcooked. To the point that no matter how I cracked the shell only half the meat came out. Now ordinarily I would charge it to the game, but for $65, you get 2 clusters and I wound up having to throw one away…. I had to say something. Now I may eat there again, but I would definitely not recommend ordering that entrée. (I came back and gave a 4 star instead of 3 because they owned it and offered to make it right…. respect and commend that.)

Awesome location on the bay. The setup of the restaurant and bar is very convient for all..the bar and pizza together up front in one building burgers and seafood in rear building with bay views.lots of inside and outside seating. I had shrimp skewers grilled with potatoes and vegetables for lunch. Wow it was truly a 10 of 10 dish. Excellent flavor. Highly recommend

Everything was alright. Service was kind of spotty. Saw two tables get up and leave while we were there. Food was average but I know there are better options for seafood in the area. Adult drinks were good though.

UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner immediately after my review. I didn’t take them up on the gift card offer however I did go back. EVERYTHING I mentioned in my below review has be rectified. We did have a different waiter and we couldn’t have be more pleased with the service. The only issue we had this time was the lack of some menu items. Considering they have so many choices available, it was easy to make another selection. The food was excellent and the service was too. Thank you! Attached picture is the fried Mahi basket. I change my 3 star review to a 5!

If you want a place to spend a few hours with friendly folks, good food & drink in the open air by the bay and a little off the beaten path on Okaloosa, this is the place. Enter in back, order a drink, walk out on the long dock at sundown, bring a deck of cards, and kick back. Especially enjoyed live solo music by Preston Hoffman this Fri eve. Wait staff were friendly and attentive.
