3.5 stars. Pretty decent food. Is it the best I’ve ever had? No, but I liked it. My dad is a vegetarian and a picky one at that, so it is hard to please him with the one veggie options most restaurants have. The veggie fried noodles dish here was a big success with him because he loved it and finished quite a bit of it!! My mom and I shared the chicken curry which was delicious too but could’ve done with a hint of more spice. And maybe some mushrooms 🙂 we also had the heated sake which was very nice. Pricey, as everything in Hawaii seems to be! But I do recommend them for their food. The ambience is a typical small town bar/restaurant with wooden and antique-y things. Service is a little bit slow at times.

I’m from New Orleans LA. And when I tell you that Red Water Cafe is the best place to get and the best food on the island ️ and with a hard working team with the best customer service I’ve ever seen it’s more than a cafe it’s the place you have to visit when you come to the big island ️. No matter where you’re at Kona, Hilo, Waimea, Captain Cook,….etc. Make your way to Red Water Cafe for a great time. I highly recommend⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoyed the fresh catch of the day which was wahoo fish (ono). We were able to get a reservation no problem which was nice. Not sure the best way to describe the environment but the word “quirky” comes to mind.

Terrible place!!! Not cozy, all the furniture is falling apart (pigs have better house), the food doesn’t taste very good…. I understand it is Hawaii but for the amount and a quality of the food it is very expensive (2 plates of sushi and 1 bottle of beer $79 plus tips). Poke bowl at the local gas station did taste much much better !

Terrible food and service. This place used to be good but absolutely do not eat here. 4 people over $300 cold, thin and tuff steak. Completely tasteless ahi tuna with a tasteless sauce. Tuff porkchop. It took an hour for our food to come and there was only one other table with people. The steak was so cold and bad it wasn’t even eaten and they still charged us for it.

That ambiance!! Drove in from Waikoloa for a family dinner with 8 on a Friday. Definitely make reservations beforehand. They had live jazz music that we really enjoyed and added to the ambiance. Their cocktail menu is diverse. I ordered a mule type drink which was a little tart but improved as ice melted. My family ordered the specials and the half portions are huge! You will be plenty full from that!

Don’t listen to those that give this place a low rating. It’s a great spot to dine. Fuji roll for appetizer is perfect for 2. Pancit and Lilikoi Curry also great. Waiters were super attentive.

I stopped in for dinner here with my boyfriend and had a great meal! They brought edamame as an appetizer and were quick to serve us and take our order. My boyfriend got the Opa special and I got the short ribs, both delicious. The inside is very cute with cushions and books as well as a small bar. The prices were about average for dinner, $20-$30, as well as the drinks. I’d recommend this place with their great food. They also had a small parking lot for easy access.

We went to Red Water Cafe in Waimea before the theater performance. We shared the Thai Caesar Salad, which was excellent – different, but excellent. I had a half-rack of BBQ baby-back ribs and thought they were great – came with a small salad and mashed potatoes. My partner had one of the evening’s specials, a duck ravioli dish, which she did not like. Too much pasta and too little duck – don’t order this or you’ll be disappointed. Service was good and we made it to the Kahilu Theater on time.
