I’m so glad we found this place! It was completely by chance when we were looking for places to eat last minute, but let me tell you- the steak was the best I’ve had in years (and I’ve worked in a couple upscale restaurants). The calamari and shrimp were excellent as well! I loved the cozy atmosphere we will 100% be returning!!! Wonderful customer service and also BYOB, so come prepared with a tasty wine! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a steak/seafood spot in LBI

First time going and will recommend. The atmosphere was so nice. Decently priced. The flow was good too. Not waiting too long between courses and also not being rushed. Good food in a lively atmosphere. Enjoyed our meal at RARE Company. We all chose something different – even the meatloaf (highly recommended!) and everyone was happy with their choices. The Clams Oreganato were goo, the steamers even better. Everything was good to great and we left quite satisfied. And their wait staff was outstanding.

I came in with my family of six and we were seated promptly by a super friendly host. Our appetizers were great but the star of the show was our entrees. The steak was tender and the seafood definitely tasted fresh. We ended our night with espresso and a dessert and to top it all off the service was great. Owners were present and super friendly with our table. I couldn’t recommend Rare more!

This is a wonderful small place and rare to find a great straight up restaurant on LBI! Food and service is very good with friendly relaxed atmosphere. There’s no artificial hype that is typical of so much of the Beach Haven restaurant scene and in comparison, you actually get your money’s worth. Everything is truly homemade and cooked to order. BYOB since they don’t serve alcohol.

My family and I were excited for this restaurant as the menus looked fantastic and we were looking forward to trying something new. That being said unfortunately it was far from an enjoyable experience. Upon arrival we waited 15 min past our reservation to sit (they needed to ask another table to move). As a larger party we understand that things can take a a bit longer and food may come out in waves. However for the price point we expect the food to come out in under an hour and to taste better. Food was cold, Multiple steaks were cooked incorrectly, risotto cake was dry and bland, chicken was not edible it was so over cooked (just to name a few things). After waiting on food for quite a long time (over an hour in a nearly empty restaurant) and kindly asking if it was going to be coming out soon not one person apologized for the long wait. Eventually we had to track down employees to check on the status of our meals. As someone who has worked food and beverage for many years I know that things don’t always run smoothly, however when that happens something should be done to rectify. I have seen other poor reviews with aggressive responses from management of this establishment which is unfortunate to say the least. I suppose the costumer is rarely right when eating/reviewing here. Would not recommend this establishment as there are MANY other fantastic options on LBI.

Our server was great very kind. But the food was below average. The pork belly appetizer was disappointing due to the lack of pork belly and the over abundance of potatoes. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was disappointing as it was very watery and not thick. The dinner was okay. The risotto was crunchy in a cake form which wasn’t very good not a lot of taste. The price for the food seemed to be more then what it is worth. When writing a review previously the owner attacked me saying that I should go somewhere cheaper then. Very rude. I wouldn’t suggest or recommend this place at all.

Got the filet mignon & crab stuffed flounder. So good! Steak was massive. Really glad this place took over, everything was delicious & our server was great. Also don’t pass on the strawberry cheesecake for dessert it was incredible!

We waited for two hours to get our food and there were issues with multiple orders. No management approached our table to talk to us about the issues- we had multiple children with us. If you can’t manage a large party than it should be addressed at the reservation- we come every year and will not be back!
