Was on my way to sequoia national park from LA and was searching on maps for Indian food. Was particularly looking for “Dhaba” as I was told there were many on SoCal.

We decided to give Punjabi Dhaba a shot based on our friend’s strong recommendation while we were on our way to North California. From the moment we arrived, we were truly impressed by the authenticity of the food and the charming simplicity of the place. The restaurant is set up as a food truck, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options.

Small and food truck kind of Punjabi dhaba for quick lunch. We weren’t sure how it would be when we saw the place from outside, but they also had indoor with air-conditioning. We ordered rotis and dhal makni. Both were hot and fresh. We ended up ordering more after we had first bite. They also had some chaat items. They accept only cash (glad we had on hand). Downside was that the restroom was a porta potty.

Found this place while driving from LA to Yosemite . We had chai and samosa chat, I must say they both were authentic. Will definitely visit again the other items. This food truck is hidden behind a dead restaurant( Harvest Steakhouse). Plenty of parking. They only accept cash.

It was our first experience at this Panjabi Dhaba. It was worth traveling from LA to Bakersfield just for experiencing their food. First of all, The staff was awesome and they picked our taste what we wanted and accordingly they set up our order. Their Aloo-Vadi sabji was mind blowing, which earn 100% from all of our group. We thought, why they don’t have tandoor? However, when tawa roti and plain butter paratha appeared, we were surprised, as that is the tradition way of panjabi food… They are open to any feedback which is the sign of a great dhaba. it was a great food experience and we would visit again and again.

This is a bizarre place. I found it totally by accident and I was hungry, so why not? It’s a food truck hidden from the street behind a closed, out of business steak house.

Amazing food. Menu changes daily. Very friendly owner. Cash only. I always stop here when driving through the area. Air conditioned indoor seating and shaded outdoor seating in between rose bushes.

This is a food truck kinda experience with added park benches and a covered area. The new location has fewer outdoor seating. If you have never been to this dhaba, you must try it once. The food is as fresh as it can be. The stuffed Parathas like potato paratha are really good and are usually sold out by lunch time. The regular parathas are available throughout the day. We chose the Dal, Sarso de saag and pakdo kadi as the best curries. The choke / chana masala is average and the chilli paneer isn’t something you want. About the spice level, food is spicy so get mild if you normally get medium spicy elsewhere. Yes, it can get quite busy so that one window for help is very slow help as you will have to got to the window for everything including pickup. Tio: don’t go there over long weekenda. The lines can be out-the-door with a wait time to order of an hour and food pickup another hour They don’t take phone orders. Another tip: remember what you are ordering, because you may not get everything in one shot and they are busy tending multiple customers.
