Excellent Food! Service is Amazing! The best part are the prices, same plate at others are way too expensive. Truly recommend this place for family and couples as well.

I’ve been contemplating on visiting due to its mixed reviews, however, I just had to try it for myself ! Let me tell you, the chicharron de pollo was to die for ! Cooked to perfection and immensely flavorful . I paired it with white rice and beans which was also very good. I also bought an order for my mom (who’s a hard PR critique) of arroz con gandules, y pernil and she loved it. I definitely recommend, and will be going back ! (Not sure if there were other cooks for the bad reviews but I believe the owner prepared my order)

Found this hidden gem of a location in the middle of north cuba (aka miami) which it’s very rare down here. Owner very friendly and welcoming from Cayey, P.R. Back to my roots.

As a born-and-raised Puerto Rican, trust me that I know what PR food is supposed to taste like. The mofongo needs way way more garlic and chicharrón. And it’s typically served with CALDO, not mayo-ketchup. The masitas de puerco are tough and inedible. The pollo Al ajillo has NO GARLIC OR ONIONS and is rubbery. The chicharrón de pollo is better than ok. The arroz con gandules ranges from ok to dry and overcooked, depending on the day. The saving grace? The sorullitos, which are delicious, but way too big. They’re supposed to be small little croquetas, not giant corn dogs. Please, restaurant owner, take this review as constructive criticism. I’ve been there three times in order to sample several things. And your food has potential, but it’s not quite there. And that sucks because there’s no Puerto Rican food nearby. Tenía esperanza, pero no wepa yet.

First time going here and will certainly go again! I recommend it as it is homey, delicious and quick. The staff makes you feel at home, they have domino tables & card games. The food reminds me of Puerto Rico . I recommend the arroz con gandules y pernil. All the appetizers were great as well as the limber.

Friendly service, love the daily specials ( M – Th). The pasteles are thick, cicharron de Pollo perfectly cooked, garlic chicken delish and flavorful. Habichuelas like grandma’s. Tostones are thin and garlicky .

It’s almost fine, possibly a little more in the portion for the price, even if it’s 2 more pieces of meat and a little more mofongo and another type of dish that doesn’t help the presentation and like in most Puerto Rican places they always put a little lettuce and 2 pieces of tomato and the alcapurria lacked more bananas it seems that it has flour
