Great thin crust pizza ! Will definitely be coming here again soon. The crust is crispy and delicious. Great customer service too! I had my phone out to take these pictures and accidentally left my phone outside on the picnic table. I felt very lucky when a nice guy answered when I called my number and said they found my phone. They even put it on a charger. Thank you very much!!

I absolutely love Privateers Pizza & Provisions in Essex! The owner’s warm and welcoming demeanor truly makes you feel like family. The pizza sauce is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted, and their mushroom pizza is a flavor explosion that keeps me coming back for more. And don’t even get me started on their incredible meatballs – they’re an absolute must-try. Bring the whole family! A 5-star gem that never disappoints!

I’m not trying to make this a negative review, but sadly the pizza is just not good. If you’re a Dave Portnoy fan, he would not like it here cause it’s “flop city”. The workers were really nice and friendly, pizza was ready on time, and the crust itself was amazing. Sadly though the middle of the pizza was just grease and soggy. They don’t use the cuppy pepperoni like pepes does. The price at $23 a tad steep,but it is essex and it’s a true large. If you do go definitely ask for it well done.

Really really good pizza, and lovely people. The owner’s parents (25 year veterans of the pizza business themselves) were minding the store while he was out of town. Flavors, crust, everything was delicious. Highly recommend if you like New Haven-ish style pizza (don’t judge me if it’s not totally that style – the great char on the crust reminded me of it).

First time coming to this place and absolutely loved it. Walking in, the guys working were super nice/ welcoming and were extremely helpful. I ordered one of their newer menu options, brick oven sandwich. Well, was it out of this world and highly recommend trying one!
