We had our son’s graduation party here today…Mark and his staff did an outstanding job getting everything set-up for us. The food (pulled pork nachos) was outstanding and Mark kept everything fresh and full throughout the afternoon. Family owned business with excellent customer service. I feel like this is a hidden gem. We came here after leaving another place that had terrible service and food and decided to give this place a try. Super friendly service, a variety of tasty beverages and decent food. But the atmosphere is where this place shines. It’s comfortable and relaxed and can hear each other talk. Overall a great place to hang out with friends. 10/10 would recommend.

Another visit, another great experience. I had the “Tumbleweed” which is a brisket and grilled chicken sandwich with jalapeño jelly and other stuff that was fantastic. This picture was taken AFTER I ate a bunch of meat that fell of the bottom bun and you still can’t see the bun. $12.00, seriously? You can’t make it for that. Go enjoy this place and get 6 beer tokens for $21.00 and choose any beer in any cooler for 1 token!

Came here yesterday purely for BBQ given that it’s name has “smokehouse”. I would not recommend this place for any sort of BBQ. Brisket lacks flavor, it was tough. The entire food temperature was cold. It was 4 of us and all our food was cold. The service is that of fast food restaurant. You order at counter and they bring you food, but that was about all the service we received. No one waits tables or checks on you. I don’t know why establishments like these ask for tips.

The drink selection was excellent. As was the cornbread (not too dry). However, the brisket, chicken, and pulled pork were very dry and tough. Even after adding sauce, it would not absorb and was difficult to chew. If they mixed the meat with local bbq sauce, I’m sure it would greatly improve. Meat was served with plain untoasted white bread. Beans were mediocre. This was a huge bummer since we had family visiting from out of town. The atmosphere was cute, but we were left disappointed.

We visited Brenham to see the town’s Christmas displays and decorations. I found Pioneer Smokehouse on Google Maps and my wife and I decided to try them for lunch. The atmosphere inside is quaint and, if it were not too cold that day, we would have sat outdoors. Fortunately, it was not crowded indoors and seating is very casual. We both ordered sliced brisket. It was good, but, a bit on the dry side. Perhaps it was the weather, so, we’ll try them again when temps are warmer.

Super friendly. Great service. Barbecue has a good flavor but dry. Slaw was fresh but bland. The chairs are too high for the tables and uncomfortable. Too high for average ht people. May be more comfortable seating outside but too hot now to check it out.

Always a stop when we pass by Brehnam. The bbq is very delicious! The baked potato and nachos are my favorite and the chili is one of the best! Love the atmosphere. Definitely recommend Pioneer Smokehouse, Mark is very friendly, great customer service!

Great BBQ, Friendly Service, amazing atmosphere in a really cool old building with a lot of history. We had the brisket, cole slaw, and one of the many sandwich options and all were fantastic.
