Great experience eating out with my cousin… we split the lobster roll and chef’s burger- both were terrific. Fun to be at the airport runway too!

I’m assuming like everyone else that they are short handed. Quick seating but, waited more than 1/2 an hour for the food. No apologies or explanation for the long wait. Waitress was pleasant. Food was good. Avacado toast for me. Egg/bagel sandwich for my wife. DO NOT order the “Orange juice”. Not sure what that was but, it wasn’t juice. Lear jets coming/going. Cool to watch but, can be conversation killers when idling 50′ away. Overall I liked the vibe of the place. Nice breeze blowing. Just not the greatest 1st experience.

Sat down and waited and waited to be acknowledged, couple came in 10 minutes after us got immediate service. We ordered a hot dog and a Ruben. Wasn’t busy but took 40 minutes to get the meal. The hot dog was a hot dog, hard to mess that up, but I knew the Ruben was going to be awful when it came out on white toast and I was right, worst Ruben I ever had. The bill was 35$ for this meal. Overpriced for a poor meal. Do not recommend going here. I really wanted to leave a good review for a local place but I cant…. my 1 star is a generous review.

You wouldn’t think that one of the best places to eat in Sanford was right on the tarmac, but it is! Placed large orders for takeout two days in a row and the food was fantastic. They have the most options for salads of any place in town as well as some delicious cheesesteaks, burgers, chicken tenders and more hearty fare. Staff is friendly and welcoming with a casual vibe that makes you feel like family. Owner is great too. Indoor and outdoor seating available. My one critique would be that the farm salad was a little under-dressed for my taste, and so I’d suggest ordering some dressing to go on the side.

My wife and I decided to go on an adventure, we used a coin and flipped it at each stop sign or light for exactly an hour. When the alarm went off we pulled over and looked up restaurants within 5 miles pilots cove was one. We each wrote 2 restaurants put it in a hat and I pulled that one. I have lived in or around Sanford since 2011 and never ate there. The least I can say was I was pleasantly surprised. I had lobster Mac and cheese and it was perfection. My wife had chicken broccoli Alfredo delicious. They tasted good the next day as well. I HIGHLY recommend pilots cove cafe. 10 out of 10!

Food was overcooked, overpriced and small portions. Great service but the food was terrible. I ordered a chicken ceasar wrap that was not what I ordered and had black olive and tomatoes in it and was fried so it was warm, tried it but couldn’t eat it. The rest of my family ordered the fisherman’s platter. They said the lobster roll was good but shrimp and calamari and haddock way overcooked. Only upside was the service, our server was kind and checked on us frequently. They also allowed our dog and they were very good with him and brought him water.

Surprisingly dirty restaurant. Not many customers and the floors and counters were obviously not clean – debris and sticky spots and lots of footprints. Strange musty, dirty smell like the floor had not been properly washed in a long time.

Today we went to the restaurant and was very disappointing. We ordered New England clam chowder, which wasn’t what we expected. It did not look came out of the can know, and we ordered loaded nachos which the cheese seem like it was put in the microwave and we ordered french fries with gravy and some type of shot me with the mozzarella also was from the microwave and we ordered turf and serve wish you were a highly Bc thought we were gonna get a lobster tail or a lobster for $50. It was a very tiny piece of steak with some pieces of lobster. The bill was on proportionally high for only four people definitely not worth the money for the quality of food would never go back and the service sucked.

We went for dinner because it was close to our hotel. Bartender was very sweet but seemed a bit overworked—she was also our server. It was late so they were serving a limited menu. Food was just okay but vibe was nice. Cool to have the back deck area that looks out over the airport. I’d think about it more as a bar that serves food.
