The food was delicious. I give the overall experience a 3 star vs a 5 star because the main course was room temperature and took a long time to come to table.

Patton’s is an awesome hidden gem in Houston. The speakeasy atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night. The hidden door to access the restaurant through the wine room makes it all the more special. Went on a Wednesday night that featured live Jazz music. Food was spectacular and service was attentive and on point. Bartender will also give great recommendations for cocktails and wine.

Went here for my birthday. All the food was delicious. Great steaks, sauces and sides. We did the Houston restaurant week menu and it was great! Great service too! Other reviews mention bad service and food but we experienced none of that! Will definitely be back!

Service was extremely slow and not attentive for the fine dining restaurant they claim to be. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was sitting on ice away from the table, multiple times our glasses sat empty for long periods and had to ask multiple times for it to be filled. At a fine dining experience that should not happen. My steak was cooked to medium when Medium rare was requested. A restaurant that specializes in steak should be getting the temperature correct. By the time the second steak arrived my boyfriend had already finished his steak. The bill came and there was a charge for an old fashion that we did not order. There was no effort to compensate for the over-cooked steak and incorrect overcharged bill. The waitress was kind but had too many tables to be attentive enough and provide the service that a restaurant to this pedigree requires. Missed the mark. I do not usually leave bad reviews but this was a very poor experience.

Everything was fabulous. Rodney made some excellent recommendations, and he anticipated every need. The food was amazing, the drinks were the best I have ever had, and the Cronuts were the icing on the cake. Steaks were cooked to perfection, and the sides were beyond what I could have imagined.

Wife and I went here on our Anniversary, love trying different places and the concept seemed cool… small speakeasy style steakhouse. Everything was amazing to ambiance, food and service. Friday night at 7PM it was fairly busy but we weren’t in a rush(as you shouldn’t be on a dinner date) split a bottle of wine and started with the bread service which the 3 butters and 2 different breads were a great appetizer. Got the filet and New York strip with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, both steaks cooked perfectly and sides were amazing potatoes has right amount of truffle flavor and wish I could get that mac n cheese recipe. Wrapped up with Crème Brulee which is my wife’s favorite and some of the best we had in awhile. Honestly cant wait to go back and surprised there’s bad reviews on this place but I feel most reviewers I read came off as super picky and entitled, Id say go try it out and see for yourself for at least the experience of it all.

I went on a Wednesday during HRW and fully expected to have a quiet, relaxing early dinner. I purposely made the reservation for 5:45 to avoid a crowd which would ultimately make my dine time longer than I wanted it to be. I elected to sit at the bar which was nice for all of 10 minutes or so. The jazz singer that evening showed up and sat 2 seats down from me (it’s a small bar) to have a glass of wine before starting her night. From the moment she sat down, it was nonstop talking. She did not pick up on social queues from the bartender who really wasn’t entertaining conversation with her. She talked everything from her mother’s illness to not having a will, to having cows for an agriculture exemption, to driving a Cadillac. Literally nonstop, loud and obnoxious. I couldn’t finish dinner quick enough to get out of there and not have to listen to her anymore. The food was alright. Beef tartare would be better with an egg on top. Steak was cooked more on the medium side, when I asked for medium rare. Truffle mashed potatoes only had a slight truffle taste to them. Cronut was decent. Wine was good. The bartender and manager apologized for my experience because they could tell I was less than thrilled, but I did let them know she essentially ruined the ambiance and should be talked to about knowing her surroundings.

What a great place. Very dark and speakeasy feeling. It was a little confusing knowing that you need to walk through Savoir to get to the restaurant, but that was part of the cool part. Service was awesome, dry aged steaks that’s are top notch and an excellent classic filet. Apps and drinks were also really good. The bread service was so worth it! The beef carpaccio was excellent. Will be back for sure!

If you think a good steakhouse serves Prime steak or better, you will not be happy with Patton’s.
