Alas the fall from Grace for Papaya Dog. I’ve been coming here for 25 years even when the more legit Gray’s Papaya was still up on 6th Ave. But my Papaya Dog has become a shell of the welcoming, little nasty-wonderful place it was for so long. They took advantage of inflation mania during COVID and their prices rise weekly. Let’s be honest, a place like Papaya Dog only works if it is cheap. This isn’t great food, but it’s comfortable. But when it’s crazy over priced? Then they totally ripped up the space and crammed in a Ralph’s Ices and Ice Cream that is not good at all and leaves a sliver of space in the place. To top it all off, all the guys were fired and this creep seemingly runs the place who is more concerned with his loud conversations with his co-workers than anything else. So you end up with nothing you ordered right. Sad. But then again this is the place that loudly proclaims, ‘We Open 24 Hrs’. Beyond the grammar they close every evening . Avoid it.

Fun little restaurant that’s famous for not only it’s New York Hot Dogs but also for having Rihanna along with other actors eat here! The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because it’s pretty small so you can’t have a huge party eating here and you have to stand to eat here at their tables! Other than that, it’s really good!

I came to this place really late that night. It was like 2 AM. There were some people ordering and then there was two gay guys walking in and the staff told them that it’s closed and when the gay guy said other people are ordering nowhere close you have to leave then the guy said something back to the staff and then he went outside and he beat them up and they left from making everybody’s food to go outside and fight and argue. This place is terrible. They are racist. I ordered food and I ask where can I eat? It started yelling said outside. . Everything was the carpets a radical to 72nd St. to papyrus food is 100 times better plus what I seen what they did to the little people that was just trying to get food just because they’re gay didn’t want to serve them. Pure garbage and the men in the front always are looking at a young girls walking in they are 50-year-old man.
