Stopped for a second time on our way over the pass. The food was outstanding and fast. But the highlight was our server Marshall. He made our day with his professionalism and great information added to a stellar personality.

This was our first meal after backpacking for three days and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I believe our waiter was the owner and he was the sweetest guy and so attentive. We got burgers and fries. The garlic fries were the best fries I’ve ever had and I can’t stop thinking about them! The food was great! Ended with chocolate cake a La mode which was also delicious and not overly sweet. Great atmosphere with too! We live in Dallas where there are tons of food options and still find this place top notch! We will definitely go back when we visit next time!

I apologize for the half-eaten food pic but I started nibbling on the Garlic Parm Fries before the pic and I couldn’t stop, BEST I’ve ever had. They had a perfectly crispy texture and flavor. They really were a garlic lovers dream, they could call these “garlicpalooza fries” or maybe even “Garlichnyosaur Fries” since we discovered them while exploring Gardnerville. These fries alone are worth the stop. We also had fish tacos that were very good and plentiful, they were toppde with a green sauce with a touch of heat. They were super flavorful! Service and atmosphere was stellar, this was mid-day on a Friday and they seemed moderately busy. We ride our bicycles and noticed others that did the same, we will be stopping by much more frequently!

Food was good. There are some gluten free accommodations available, such as buns for burgers. Wait staff is mostly knowledgeable of gluten containing items and/or are willing to ask the kitchen. Be sure to ask about each individual item to be safe. We were not told that the fries were beer battered and the menu did not indicate it either. After receiving the fries, I couldn’t eat them and wish I would’ve asked so I could’ve ordered something else.

The service and atmosphere was great. The ahi tuna salad and ribs were wonderful along with the pretzel. The macaroni and cheese was oily possibly because they used processed cheese? My daughter couldn’t eat more than three bites. The fettuccine Alfredo was pink and not appetizing to look at or eat. The gnocchi was a pan of grease, again I think because they used processed cheeses. My teenage boy didn’t even want to try it.

This pub was absolutely a fantastic find on our part. The food and service was perfection. We can’t wait to stop by again. Amber was our server and she made our day. Great attitude and she brought us great food and drinks. She is very sharp and witty overall a Great person. She made the whole experience fun really enjoyable. We had the fried fish and chips, fish tacos, Calamari and the ribs. All was done to perfection. Flavor was very tasty and fresh. We couldn’t ask for a better selection and great time. We will be back.

The atmosphere was excellent; the service was ok; we had a table of five and ordered the soft pretzel twist and piggy poppers for starters. We received four poppers; someone with excellent customer service would have given us five and told us how they went the extra mile and added one more – since it’s five people, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I ordered the chicken bacon avocado, and the chicken was overcooked.

A wonderful dining experience in an historic 1902 building, eating at The Overland is like taking a step back in time! Our server was particularly excellent tonight. Not only did Rodney provide great service, but he also made my drink, a Stone Fruit Sparkler. It is not sweet but had very subtle flavors of fruit and fresh rosemary, I loved it! The Drunken Shrimp pasta was delicious again. Highly recommended!!
