Wow, I just had the most amazing first visit to the Original Pancake House in Portland! Let me tell you about the “Ultimate Burger” I ordered – it was an absolute flavor explosion. The patty was perfectly cooked and juicy, topped with gooey cheese that melted in my mouth. And that fried egg? Oh man, it added a delicious creaminess that complemented the other ingredients so well.

9pm Sunday was quiet when we walked in but several couples and a family walked in as we were eating. Gilbert was friendly and chatty. The hotcakes are fantastic and I will absolutely be coming back just for them. It’s pretty quiet unless someone picks a song on the jukebox. You order and pay first before choosing your seat.

Great food but no room to move around… No wheelchair could make it around because of how tightly people stand… I was there on a busy day, though. The coffee and water station was on one side of the line and my table on the other, so no easy refills. Enjoyed my time and the meal.

Fun place. The food is mouthwatering. You stand in line to order right by the griddle, so you’re craving one of everything they have when its time to order. We went on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and the line wasn’t bad. Maybe an 8-10 minute wait.

A decade and change later since the last visit, still the best go-to spot for diner style grub. Order up front, grab a seat after and your food is served when ready. Fresh hot cakes made to order. Cheeseburger with cheesy crust and house made fries is a fave. Really good variety on the menu. Munchies galore. Repeat customers would agree, highly recommended.

Great breakfast all day. They were out of fruit for the pancakes so I got the French toast special with 4 bacon strips and 1 over medium, some OJ $18. PORTLANDIA prices for sure. Food, service and cleanliness was good.
