The new Old Timer’s is a GREAT restaurant that nobody seems to go to. I have been a pretty regular patron for the last year, and the food and service are fantastic! The menu is a GREAT improvement over the previous owner’s, and the food is well-prepared and presented, and absolutely delicious! Portions are generous (I can get at least two meals from the chicken parmesan – and it’s wonderful), and the staff happily packs up left-overs. Bar service is great and pours are very generous as well. If you haven’t been, go! If you haven’t been lately, go! You don’t know what you are missing!

As I’m sure most people in Clinton and surrounding towns were looking forward to the reopening of The Old Timer under new ownership so too was I, especially with the promise of keeping alot of the character and some menu items. I waited a while to let things settle in so as to hope for a good experience. Overall was a disappointment considering lack of sufficient wait staff and an obscene wait time for food and drinks. The waitress was apparently stressed but definitely polite and pleasant despite the circumstances. Food quality at the table was mixed with an over seared bland steak to a like warm at best steak risotto entree. Fortunately the chicken marsala i had was enjoyable as was the buffalo chicken pasta another person ordered. I do hope in time to return for a much better experience and that the less than desirable OVERALL visit was in part growing pains mixed with a learning curve of recently opening. Waitress was great, atmosphere pleasant and familiar, no salt/pepper or ketchup on table, food presentation appealing but quality was mixed and pricing seemed on par for menu and atmosphere. Good luck to New ownership and hope for a positive future of The Old Timer restaurant.

Went here for dinner with the family. Took an hour and 15 minutes for the first dinners to arrive for three of them. Another 10 minutes for the second two to arrive and mine showed up even later. My steak, ordered medium, was burnt and cooked through beyond well done. I sent it back and did not eat. Loved the original Old Timer but will not be visiting this one again.

Service was pleasant and fast. The food was properly cooked and hot when brought to the table. Tasted good and well presented. Prices were not out of line from other restaurants we have been to. We will consider returning for a second time.

I’ve been here several times now over the course of 6 months and I have always had a delicious meal. The decor is a bit dated but, you can not beat the great food, the friendly servers, and the dinner prices. Fantastic. Keep producing quality dishes and I’ll be there. Thanks.

We booked an after baptism party buffet style of 45 guests in the main room. They also had a party of 30 reunion in side room and funeral lunch in the bar. It was apparent management overbooked and couldn’t handle the load. The wait staff was amazingly accommodating and friendly but the back of the house and owners just don’t have their act together. Our reservation was a 215 pm and the buffet food came out at 330, not only that but after guest 29 the buffet was empty with another 16 guests still in line, after another 30+ minutes the containers were eventually refilled but some guests left in the interim. Management said “if your not happy about it then you don’t have to tip the wait staff ” that’s insane. The wait staff was great and the food was good but because the cooks and management are rude and don’t know how to run a business I know of 45 people who won’t be back. Book your next party with caution.

I’ve been having lunches at the Old Timer for almost 20 years. The food, though simple, is always good.

We used to visit the Old Timer regularly back in the summer of 1975 when we were based in Westminster on a project with DEC. What a great place, great food and the best of staff. We introduced live music to the bar and a group of us used to play every Friday night, Jimmy (chef) would always give a rendition while carving the roast beef.

This business described itself as an Irish restraunt and pub. Yet the menu is more Italian than anything else no lamb dish what so ever. A Reuben was the only thing close to Irish.
