The Nasher Museum Café features local, seasonal ingredients for lunch on weekdays, dinner on Thursdays and brunch on weekends. The café earned a 2017 Diner’s Choice Award and was named one of the Top 100 Brunch Spots in America by OpenTable diners and has been recognized as a Duke campus leader for green dining standards. Nasher Museum Café is a part of Giorgios Hospitality Group, whose Director Giorgios Bakatsias was a finalist for the 2014 James Beard Foundation Awards, and has been the creative force behind more than 25 restaurants in the area. The Nasher has also been recognized in Food & Wine Magazine as on of the Best Museum Restaurants in the US.

Best eatery on Duke campus that accepts food points. As a Duke student, I would always come here with friends whenever I had extra food points! I recommend making a reservation because they’re usually quite busy during brunch hours. They are accommodating for large groups!

I’ve been to the Nasher cafe 3 times in the past couple of years, and each time the food has been phenomenal. However, each time I have also had the displeasure of being stuck at a meal for 2 hours, or even longer. The wait staff is extremely slow, often leaving tables unattended for ridiculously long periods of time, and making the entire meal crawl along. So, in essence, if you are looking to have some nice, drawn out conversation while enjoying a tasty meal, certainly give the Nasher a try! But if you are in any sort of time crunch whatsoever, I would suggest going to one of the many other delicious restaurants in the area.

Our monthly dining group of 8 (G8 is now five years old) really enjoyed our recent dinner at the Nasher Cafe. We went on a Thursday night (the only night dinner is currently being served) and, as an added bonus, those of us who arrived at the Nasher Museum early could check out the current art exhibitions without paying an entrance fee since Thursday is their “free” day. It was a nice evening weather-wise and we opted for the outdoor seating (a beautiful setting) which can be a little quieter than the indoors room as well. We had truly delightful service from Marley and it was great seeing Lydia whom we know from her Refectory Cafe days. We requested several variations from what was listed on the menu and Marley and the chef happily fulfilled our orders. We all chose very tasty and fresh dinner-sized salads (from Nasher’s wonderful selection) and some of us topped them off with beautifully grilled shrimp or seared ahi tuna. Nasher Cafe also has a nice selection of desserts as well as of wine, and a small, but good, selection of craft beer — and we partook in all. Finally, we made reservations for their Saturday brunch in a couple of weeks!

The Nasher Museum Cafe is a lovely afternoon experience especially if you’re there to visit the museum or if you’ve been to Duke Gardens close by. Brunch is served on the weekends with an outdoor dining option available. They have theme dinners and an excellent wine list. The staff is professional and proficient. A very good choice.

After having a tour of the Museum, we went to lunch at the Cafe. The seating is easy-just find a seat and the staff is attentive to who comes in. Within a minute, menus were in hand and beverage orders were taken and delivered. The menu covers all tastes from light plates to salads and sandwiches and meals.
