We just tried the curry for the first time today. The texture is super bumpy, and it tastes like it has too many spices in it, AND it has an UNUSUAL after bitter taste. I don’t think this is normal for a curry (and I’ve had plenty in my lifetime!)

I love this place! The staff was amazing and the food was even better! I had the tikka Masala and it was delicious. I’ve been looking for an authentic Indian spot and this place nailed it. I also got the strawberry drink and it was incredible super refreshing tasted great. 11/10 I will always recommend this place!

Mumbai Express definitely surpassed expectations with their delicious chicken tikka masala. I lived in India for a while and am Indian myself and I can definitely say this is the real deal. Also, their mango lassi is amazing, a nice cool refreshing drink that tastes very authentic. Definitely going to be a usual customer here!!

Great food at a great price! I love Indian food, and honestly whenever I go to an Indian restaurant I can’t get away from the chicken tikka masala and the the mango lassi. The best part about Mumbai is that they only focus on the most popular Indian dishes… which happen to be my favorites!

Wow!!! This place has the best Chicken Tikka Masala I’ve ever had. I’ve tried recreating the flavors at home but just can’t get it right. The rice is simple yet spot on. The tikka and the rice perfectly compliment each other. I find myself craving Mumbai Express after having just recently eaten it, EVERY TIME! My last visit I was able to try a sip of my friend’s Lassi and will definitely be getting my own cup next time. I’ll definitely be stopping in here when I’m in the area next. Keep up the good work Mumbai Express.

I really wanted to like this food but it left me wanting. It’s like everything is there to be a great dish but something is just off and I couldn’t put my finger on it. I’m pretty sure they’re using too much of one of the seasonings so much so that it feels like that’s the only thing you’re tasting and it leaves you still craving that tikka masala flavor but it’s not there. I am no chef, so all I can say is it just needs more zest or spice to it. Whatever the seasoning that’s overdone is, it’s making it more bitter and heavy. Hopefully that helps, lol. I really don’t enjoy writing negative reviews for start ups like this, but I truly think it’s something they need to hear because I imagine there are more people like me that I had this experience, and it could prevent them from growing at their full potential. Another big thing is it is painfully difficult to find their restaurant and I could not get a hold of them after calling 5+ times. If you’re going to stay at that location, I’d recommend having a page on your website with pictures showing what to look for and where to go because most people don’t know what the communal kitchen place is you refer to in your instructions. Anyway, the people working there seemed really nice and I think this place has a lot of potential. If not, I wouldn’t be writing this review. I’ll be happy to update it to five stars if they can improve your recipe and let me know, and I’ll come try it again. 🙂
