My fiance and I went to Mikato because I’d found a Groupon deal. The service was terrible, the waiters do not acknowledge you or say “you’re welcome” if you say “thank you.” (something I’m finding to be more of the norm these days at most restaurants here in Louisville) The waiter had to be asked twice for straws, then we had to ask for our chopsticks and dipping bowls. I feel like because we had a Groupon we were not a priority. To top off this ridiculous night, I lifted up the last of my sushi roll to put it in the to go box and there lied a fly writhing in the eel sauce. I will never go to Mikato again.

Upon arriving at Mikato’s, we very nearly turned around and went somewhere else. The outside of the establishment leaves MUCH to be desired, but once inside, all of our fears and apprehensions were erased. The service was spot on, we ate at a VERY reasonable price and had more food than we could eat. The waiter and the chef both made us laugh, and at the end, we were more than happy to leave a substantial tip, and further to recommend it to our friends and family.
