We’re Mi Lindo Tizapan, and we’ve been a Mexican restaurant here in Decatur, IL, since 2021. We offer truly authentic Mexican recipes, and we serve tacos, tortas, quesabirrias, and much more. Mi Lindo Tizapan began as a food truck and thanks to our success we now operate a full-service restaurant, daily, with occasional seasonal offerings from our food truck. We’re looking forward to partnering with Forsyth, Mount Zion, and Long Creek area consumers to continue to offer Decatur’s best authentic Mexican food and beverages. Went during lunch on a Friday. Didn’t have horchata. Chips and salsa were good. Got Quesa-Birrias. Very good. Side sauces were very good as well. Coworker got the Birrias plate. He wasn’t as thrilled with the meat as I was. He was hoping it was goat meat as that was what he was use to growing up. Would come again to try a different dish.

Best authentic Mexican food in Decatur! I had the queso birria tacos and they were juicy and savory. I even had enough left over to eat it for lunch the next day. They were also offering home-made tamales that evening and the tamales were delicious. Will definitely return.

Myself and a group of 5 have been here for dinner 4 times now and we have yet to have a bad meal. The service is always homelike, and welcoming. We get a big table and we’re treated like family. I highly recommend the steak torta with everything, that’s my favorite! And the Birria tacos are the best in the city! I love this restaurant. My group and I will be back again in a few weeks! Wow, very good food! No other place in town can compare. The Birria plate was definitely a lot of food. The meat was slow cooked, tender and very flavorful!! The salsa, guacamole and tomatillo sauce was very good as well! We will definitely be back as this will be our new authentic Mexican food place to go, nothing else can compare!

Decatur has been severely overrun with mediocre Mexican restaurants that all have the same menu across the board but Mi Linda is different bringing an authentic and diverse menu with items you can’t find anywhere else in town. The Quesadilla Birrias tacos are amazing. After finding this place I have been back almost every Friday for an order. If you are tired of the cookie cutter menu found everywhere else in town and want to try something new come to Mi Lindo Tizapan!!!
