Wow, wow, wow, I was impressed. I have been to Colombia many times, so that I can compare. The Sopa de Mondongo was spectacular, and the Arros con Marisco was one of the best I have ever tried. It tastes like seafood. If you visit Pete and looking for a Colombia restaurant, see this one

Mi Carreta Restaurant and Bakery’s Desayuno Paisa is a true delight for your taste buds. The hearty and flavorful combination of traditional Colombian breakfast items makes it a standout choice. With crispy chicharrón, tender carne asada, fried eggs, rice and beans, and a side of arepa, this dish offers a satisfying blend of textures and flavors. The balance of savory and rich elements, along with the authenticity of the preparation, truly captures the essence of Colombian cuisine. Mi Carreta’s commitment to quality and attention to detail shine through in their Desayuno Paisa, making it a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic and delicious start to their day.

Had dinner here this past week and was very impressed. Do not let the fact this is in a strip mall fool you. The food here is some of the best i have ever had. I am not Columbian, but everything i had was delicious. I had a beef and a chicken empanada as appetizers and my meal was the Bandeja Antioquena. So much on one plate, i had enough for a second meal. Oh, and the Limonada was very refreshing too. 10/10

3 different names for skirt steak should’ve been enough of a red flag, but I didn’t think it would be this horrible. Hard bland rice, hard undercooked potato, and this piece of meat. This is not entraña. This is a straight-up scam for $30. Disgusting. As someone who grew up surrounded by Colombians and their food, this is a scam.

The food here is always amazing, authentic, and delicious. As a Colombian, the food, bakery, and drinks remind me of back home, so I’m glad to see that they have this place in St Pete and that it is ran well. They represent Colombia really well. Staff are all friendly, and I appreciate that they’re bi-lingual and give great service towards everyone.

Great, authentic place with a fairly good variety of dishes. I had the yuca, which was cooked perfectly, hot, and deliciously fried to a crisp. Their prices are fair, and the amount of food you get for the price was surprising good! There aren’t too many people who speak English here, but our waiter was very polite and welcoming to us. The only complaint was how long the food took to come out, but there might have been some type of miscommunication on how it was supposed to be delivered … or our waiter simply forgot we ordered them; I ordered a couple empanadas (we were dining in) and 20 minutes passed and they still didn’t come out, even though everything else we ordered was delivered a significant amount of time earlier. I asked about how much longer it’d take for them to be ready and the waiter said they were pre-made and ready at the counter. So after I inquired about them, he promptly went over, bagged them up, and served us room temperature empanadas out of a brown paper bag (even though we were dining in?). No complaints there, it just felt a little odd. This was a great place to try something different, or if you’re looking for authentic food this would be great! I’d go back but I’d probably take my order to go.

Local restaurant that truly captures the tastes of Spanish food. Flavors reminds us of our travels across South America with fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Love their sweet arepas y queso. They have the most delicious pastries & desserts to choose from. If you want to taste some home cooking then you’ve found the spot. We’ll be back again and again
