MECCA is the only bar in Porterville, California! The oldest business in the same location since establised and one of the very few long standing locally owned businesses in Porterville. Its a icon and landmark in our city! Originally opened in 1937, Mecca has been pouring drinks and keeping the public happy for OVER 86 years!!!! Currently under new ownership as of November 2022 and NEWLY RENOVATED! The previous owners were the proprietors for 27 years. Locals describe MECCA as being “Our own hometown Cheers!” MECCA is your favorite neighborhood bar! Our business hours are 9am-2am 7 days a week 365 days a year!! We have 8 TV’s that are always showing local and national news, sports, and a pool table!

For the locals, The Mecca is probably the most well known spot in town. It’s where most of us have spent our 21st birthdays or celebrated on special occasions. Perfect for catching up with old friends or making new ones. The Mecca offers all your favorite drinks and always poured to perfection. Go down on Sunday or Monday nights and say hi to my favorite bartender Krystal, she’ll make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time stopping by.

Always packed. Bartender was Daqri, whom I love so I’m a little biased here. I don’t usually come here cause it’s so small and so many people are always here and its a squeeze to get around. I do still come here once in a while though so that says something right?!?

I Went there with my friends that wanted to grab a drink (I’m not drinking bc I’m pregnant ) and the waitress was very rude saying that I either get up to bring her my ID personally (my friend already took it into her and I was sitting 10 ft away)or I should leave the bar. So when I was leaving she said that “it’s better you don’t come back here”. How can you be so rude with people like that? I didn’t do anything to her and she said that she doesn’t care if I’m not drinking or pregnant.. so I left. Well, good luck to you lady and I hope you find a bit of love in your life because you definitely need some!
