McAvoy’s is a nice place to hang out. Especially on weekends when they have live music. Went to see Great Train Robbery (great band). They had a decent selection of beers and they serve food. There was a wide variety of people young and old enjoying music and friends. It could use a makeover. Refinished tables and chairs. Will definitely go back

I ordered 2 corned beef and cabbage dinners to go. The meals were awful. The corned beef was tough as leather, the cabbage was soggy, the potatoes would have been fine if they didn’t put drown the entire meal in their awful horseradish cream sauce. Will NEVER go back!!!

I went today after work thought I’d get a shot before the race only one couple at the bar had drinks BUT BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN and mind you would have tipped very well was ignored for over 20 minutes and another woman but as soon as a man walked up she was on like a dog in heat bravo to you because we won’t be back!!!!

Fun experience, pool tables, good taste of music and bands. Hard to communicate on band nights but expected. Beware of drunk regulars, they are harmless if you smile and nod.
