Such a cute brunch place for Japanese pancakes!! The food was absolutely delicious. The pancakes were so light and fluffy and didn’t feel heavy at all. The service was relatively quick and attentive for how busy it was. My only complaint is that the place is really small so you have to wait outside when it gets busy but other than that, an absolutely amazing experience and I would recommend!

The environment is pretty small, and since the pancakes are fresh made it takes about 30 minutes of waiting. But it’s definitely worth the wait! The pancake is so fluffy and the taro paste is not too sweet. The cream is fresh and I enjoyed dipping the fruit on the side with the cream.

These pancakes are so light and airey I loved them . I got the Taro Pancakes and the Matcha. I recommend going really early huge lines and long wait for pancakes to be made . We got there a little bit after 1030 and waited about 30 mins for a table and another 40 for the pancakes to be made . Service could use a little more organization as dishes were brought out one by one . One pancake was served and then waited another 5 mins for the other one to be brought out . Overall tho great pancakes and my first time trying these traditional pancakes !

Pros: We got the custard and matcha pancakes to-go and they were nice and fluffy and baked all the way through. They gave us a good portion of toppings to put on our cakes in small containers.

I didn’t get to try these souffle pancakes in NYC so when I found myself in Chicago on a long layover I was delighted to find this restaurant walkable from the train station! A dish that feels both refreshing and cozy. I got there right at opening and I was serviced quickly!

The place is small and unassuming. You order first before you sit. At 3:45pm the place was 80% full and it took some time before I got my order and that was fine. The Kumquat Lemon Tea drink was tasty and refreshing and I love the portion size. The pancake was indeed squiggly and was regular flavored. It tasted eggy and almost runny. I would have preferred it to be more solid and cooked. The “taro” is more like a cream sauce as opposed to flavored in the pancake. The fruits were fresh. Overall I would come back again but would not if there is a line. And I would give further instructions about making it done as opposed to underdone.

I’m glad I stopped by. I tried the matcha and taro pancakes. I liked the taro ones better. The taro sauce was great, and the amount of sauce was more generous than the small amount of matcha sauce given. The whipped cream was very good, and the pancakes were fluffy and light. However, my second order of pancakes was slightly underdone (no browning on top). The staff there was very nice. The location is a bit of a hole in the wall with all the marks on the wall but delicious pancakes. The boba tea was okay. I ordered the jasmine milk tea. I was happy they had a cheese topping available.

Incredibly amazing pancakes!! Coffee is delicious too! Came in at around 10:20 am, they had just opened and there was no line. Right after us, the queue started to form outside. Heavenly delicious fluffy pancakes.

TLDR: please plan accordingly, was waiting in line for about 40 minutes outside of the store due to limited seating. The food was impeccable, docked a star due to the waiting experience and the cleanliness of the tables once we were seated.
