The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff may be a little bit laid-back but they get the job done. And I really wish they would open back up!

One of our favorite places to dine! Adequate portions, family friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices! 5 stars across the board. My family and I enjoy going to eat there, whenever possible! Our first time dining there we locked our keys in the car. With no hesitation, the owner and an employee came to our rescue. Had my keys out in 5 minutes. Laughed and joked with us and gave us a gift certificate to use on our next visit.

Ordered take out on Cinco de Mayo by accident not realizing how busy it was (duh on our part), and the food was still amazing and well cooked even given how busy and packed it was. This is my second time eating here and I feel like the food has the home cooked flavors and quality to it. No generic quality to it. We both had the New Mexico entree which is steak, shrimp, onions, spinach, etc and it was super tasty and not over cooked steak like some other restaurants do. They gave extra chips and salsa too. Appreciated the service given the busy night they were having.

I absolutely love this place. It is a family owned restaurant and the whole family is really sweet. My food has always been amazing. I love eating at a local place just good food. Rico and his wife are the kindest people. Them in their children work hard have a good restaurant and I’m very happy with the service

This is the second time we have eaten here. This time we purposefully changed our plans so we could eat here. Now this is no exotic place to eat and when you do come and you will, you will sit down and wonder why you are here. It will all become clear after you eat. The service is good. Attentive and not hovering. What you.will remember is the food. I had the #11 combination dinner. A taco, a burrito, and an enchillada. My wife had beef tacos with rice and beans. The tacos are excellent. Not a taco explosion in the lot. The beers are cold and the food is excellent and there is plenty of it. Endless chips and salsa are wonderful too.

Mazatlan is the single greatest authentic Mexican restaurant experience in Eastern North Carolina. The food is phenomenal. Everything is cooked, seasoned, and prepared to perfection. It is simply delicious. I cannot get enough of it. Another major benefit to the cuisine is the abundance and quality of the chips and salsa. I have never had better salsa at any other restaurant. The food at this establishment puts all other Mexican food in Greenville to miserable soul-crushing shame. The staff at Mazatlan are charming, courteous, and lovely. The owner Rico, a horse-riding legend in Eastern North Carolina, frequently comes to check on all his guests. His infectious charisma and suave add an authentic flavor to the entire experience that cannot be beat. I could really write an entire book about how much I love Rico and his magnificent restaurant. If you claim to be a true Eastern North Carolinian and have not sampled from Rico’s wares, you are the most pitiful of liars. Support local business! Eat Mazatlan!!

After living in Texas and New Mexico for 14 years, then, being able to travel to Mexico. One thing I learned was, “stay away from big chain restaurants when it comes to authentic food”. It is hard to find good food and great prices. This place is amazing for both! I tried the Quesadilla Jalisco with rice and beans, and cleared my plate. Most restaurants I dine are generic and their flavors are bland. This is definitely not the case here. Customer service was great as well. We were greeted, got our table, placed the order, food came quickly, and off we went. The hostess was interactive – not in that annoying, constant “how’s everything?” way, and just made us feel comfortable as if we had went to a family or friends house for dinner. We’ll definitely be back.

88.5 cleanliness rating. Rice tasted weird. Beef was extra salty. Saw a roach crawling next to us on wall. Service was below avg but only saw one waitress who did her best. Cheese was thin like milk. Sweet tea was good. Hope none of us die tonight.

Waited for 45mins for 6 tacos. Everybody who came in after us got their food before us. Waitress asked if we had been helped and how long we had been waiting said she was going to take care of us and never came back to the table and we watched her leave for the night still not coming to the table. The owner told us he would be over to us . Finally brought our food and it was barely warm. My boyfriend lied and said it was good because he didn’t want me to voice my opinion. First visit the waitress had an attitude then this very disappointed.

It was aweful for 30.00! The rice looked like white rice, the shrimp was rubbery and not even cooked to orange color and most of my meal was peppers and onions. This was my first and last time eating here. I also ordered chips with the white cheese dip only to receive a few nachos with some white cheese dip ( very little amount) on top of my chips already and this was take out, so by the time i got home to eat them they were soggy and soft.
