I was in Riverside the other day to do research on Somali culture, and people recommended this restaurant to me. Gotta say that it was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy and it seemed like everyone knew each other. The server and host were really friendly, laughing and joking with me. Another review posted below said that he was treated differently there because he was not Somali. That was NOT the case with me. Was I the only white guy there? Yes. Did the staff treat me like they did everybody else? Also yes. I had a really good fish sandwich and an interesting, delicious lemon soup. Excellent experience, and I’d love to go again.

Ordering 1 item is a One hour wait. Unless you’re friends with the owner, in that case you’re first in line. The prioritize over the phone orders over in person. They just yell out orders into the kitchen and just hope it gets made If you really want to go here, call in your order 30-40mins prior.

Meh atmosphere, decent food. The restaurant has decent food. The bread was really delicious. To cater for non-Somali audiences, the staff has to be able to explain Somali dishes to them. The staff tried but could not adequately describe the dishes to me. The restaurant could really use a do-over when it comes to making a better eating atmosphere and the decor.

Food is good but with terrible service is not even worth it. They dont respect customers time. They lack organization and perhaps employees. i gave them too many chances but thats it no more. I called them plenty times have my food ready and i come the food is not ready and the order is being received by now. I think cashier tells the ladies but then they forget. Its unbelievable how disorganized they are. many of the customers ive talk to feel same frustration

0 start—– I was a regular at this restaurant for many years but lately actually since last year their food changed a lot. Its like it looks fresh and eatable at first but after 30 minutes the food changes and it would have this smell like the food is spoiled ! I don’t know what its but i think they don’t throw away whatever its left from that day or week and they would add to the new food. Its nasty and please don’t waste your money if you care about your healthy! I feel like people who work in that kitchen don’t even wash their hands! This morning my mom wake up with stomachache and could be having food poisoning!! Seriously people don’t even brother at this place ! I am so mad this morning seriously at first they told me that the sport plate was $ 27 and i didn’t get a receipt back so when I checked my account they took $29 instead of $27 on top of that we have to throw away the food after eating a Little bit! So people heads up! I am never going back there ever!
