Typical American-Italian cuisine, friendly owner and very good service. Outdoor sidewalk dining available.

From out of town…found this hidden gem. Been here twice and will be back more as I visit family in the area! Friendly staff. Fabulous food and plenty to take home and enjoy the next day!

My grandparents used to come here for date nights back in the day. My mother and I decided to make a trip to their old neighborhood and visit their favorite restaurant. It’s exactly as expected with beautiful low lights, comforting music, and delicious food. I highly recommend the penne alla vodka and any glass of red. The pasta is fresh and the bread is warm. Make sure to order a bit extra bread to get all the extra sauce. It’s worth it. We will definitely be back.

Not too bad, but had higher expectation since Mario’s had such a long legacy. The ravioli tasted a bit hard at edges and I noticed some part were still hard (not fully cooked or maybe defrosted? I’m not an expert)

Amazing food, great atmosphere and above all… authentic. Came back here after 17 years and then only thing that changed is my weight since then. 🙂

The comment about the owner being a racist is both offensive and laughable. My family of color has been eating at Mario’s for 50 years. We have been celebrating special occasions here for decades. My parents took us here, we took our children and now our children take their children. They have always treated us like family. My Dad passed away a week before Father’s Day in 2002, the Migliucci family delivered a fully catered spread to our home in his honor. The food and service has always been top notch. There’s a reason why they’ve been in business for over 100 years!!

We liked it, but we only had one “must-have” take out item: calamari. It got the highest rating among Bronx Little Italy area restaurants. It lived up to the rep. Delicious, piping hot sauce, a side of italian sesame-seeded bread, with enough for two, but we have to say the best calamari ever is in Providence RI at The Capital Grille.

This is for the comment below mine. In my opinion if you go out to eat & don’t like your food you should say something. Way to grown to not speak up. Second, if you can’t afford to tip don’t go out. The total of food & tip is separate. You pay for food, plus the service. It’s not like it’s the waiters fault you didn’t enjoy your food. He didn’t make it.

A friendly staff, crowded place, got the food to go, Fettucine Alfredo and Penne, alla Vodka. I thought the vodka sauce was a little thicker and more flavorful. Alfredo sauce was a little watery. The bread was super fresh.
