Newly opened; Go with low to no expectations for a better experience. Don’t think because it’s name includes STEAKHOUSE, that you’re getting a high/quality steak. It’s an old restaurant that has reopened without being updated. My filet mignon was the fattiest filet I’ve ever had, but cooked properly. No alcohol available and I didn’t have the opportunity to find out if they are planning on selling alcohol in the future. Waitress was kind but flustered and overwhelmed. She dropped off my bill stating that I could pay when ready. She didn’t ask if I desired anything else nor offered a dessert option. There are some other items that might be worth a return trip. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this place improves with time.

Overall, I’d rate my experience a 1.5 stars if I could. To begin, when we walked in, there was no signs posted whether we seat ourselves, or if we had to wait to be seated. While this alone is not a big deal, we stood there in the entrance awkwardly as waitresses walked by saying nothing to us prior to us just seating ourselves. The ambiance was also awkward; there was no music, or anything on the TV’s present. My friend and I both ordered steaks, one Ribeye (medium-rare), and a NY Strip (medium-well), and unfortunately the best part of the meal was the side salads. Both steaks were extremely bland with little to no seasoning, not cooked to the desired temperatures, and the “steamed veggie” was likely canned corn. The ribeye was unappealing to the eye and almost grey in color upon reaching the table, and the gravy over top of the potatoes looked waxy and stiff. While our waitress was nice, she did make it known to us that she didn’t know whose steak was whose, and that she “doesn’t know steaks”. For $30 per person, this meal lacked flavor, and appeal. Overall this restaurant was a miss for us..

Food was all from frozen. Not good. Waitress tried her best but clearly needs more training. Dead flies and dust on the windows likely from the good old Red Ox days when they at least had good food. Counted 6 dead flies and a layer of dust just from my one booth. Auction tags still on many fixtures that did not sell at auction previously. Loud humming mechanical noise from the back room the entire time we were there as well…would rate it 0 if it allowed me.

I want this place to succeed, I REALLY do; we need a steakhouse. We’ve been twice, once for breakfast and once for supper, but never again unless we hear of drastic changes. You can read the other bad reviews, they’re not exaggerating, the food is terrible and clearly bottom shelf freezer foods in every one of the six meals we’ve had, (3 people, 2 times.) The pies we tried were even terrible. Staff has been friendly and doing their best each visit, but the menu needs to focus on quality and stop focusing on being as cheap as possible. It also needs to be trimmed drastically so they can focus on getting their fundamentals like every kitchen savior program you’ve seen in the past few decades has preached. They have a Mexican section. Tonight their specials were tacos and chicken noodles among other things. Is this a cafe or a steakhouse? If you’re looking for a cafe their are plenty of extremely better options in town, pick literally anywhere else. I feel bad being so honest in this post but there’s no way this place survives if they don’t do a hard reboot real fast.

I don’t normally write reviews for places, but holy cow this one needs it. The silverware didn’t even look like it was cleaned. The $30 prime rib I ordered tasted like bland lukewarm roast beef. All the sides and appetizers seemed like they came out of the freezer aisle at Walmart. The service was subpar. Worst of all, I couldn’t even make it through my meal as I had to throw up in their bathroom. Being a newer restaurant has no excuse for the decrease in dining quality. I will never go to Macomb Steakhouse ever again.

This new restaurant in Macomb was really good! The atmosphere is very casual… think more mom and pop owned diner instead of stuffy steakhouse. They menu had offerings ranging from steak to breakfast (which is served all day). I had the half rack of BBQ ribs, and my wife had the catfish filets. Both meals had large portion sizes, and both meals had great flavor. The staff was super friendly and attentive to all of our needs. My recommendation is that you go check out this newest restaurant in Macomb, I don’t think you will be disappointed!

Breakfast is as basic as it gets. You could go across the street and get the same diner stuff. All the decor is really run down. Your skin kind of sticks to anything it touches. There is an empty buffet in the middle of the restaurant. I had the breakfast horseshoe which was okay. Prices are reflective of the quality at least for breakfast, but this place needs an update in a bad bad way.

Unfortunately, when we went in, they were out of a few of their appetizers. That’s not a big deal, but a little disappointing. We ended up getting a decent appetizer plate regardless. Then, when we ordered our food, it was bland and the mashed potatoes were so wet. I’ll give them this, their staff was nice and the mashed potatoes had actual pieces of potatoes.

We had breakfast this morning and everything tasted great! Our server was polite and courteous and made sure we had everything we wanted and needed. I found the prices to be very fair and the food, atmosphere and service were all great. Can’t wait to go back and try their dinner menu. 5/5 stars, would recommend.

I would not recommend this place at all. We were passed at least a half dozen times when we entered and heard “we will be right with you.” We finally were seated and weren’t even told the specials. When we finally ordered it took a long time to get to us. The salads had a decent amount of water at the bottom, my wifes alfredo was cold and the sauce was basically water, my kids food was cold, and my steak was slightly warm. The steak was not good at all! Very little flavor if any at all. We wont be back.
