The tacos only had one tortilla, and they were cooked, so they were kind of hard and fried on one side. I’m a big fan of double torts that have not been fried crispy. Other than the tortillas being lackluster. The tacos tasted fantastic. If they had better tortillas, they probably would have gotten five stars from me.

I love this place and have been several times now. The salsa is served warm and is addictive. The birria is on point and the aguachile is so refreshing. The mitcheladas are so good and gigantic with all the takin and chamoy you need. Have yet to be disappointed be this place. 10/10

The best and most authentic Mexican restaurant in New Orleans. Period. The salsa is made fresh every day. Everything on the menu tastes exactly like you are in a small place in Mexico City getting a meal from your abuela. The birria is incredible. The tacos are fantastic. The chile relleno is amazing. Everything is delicious. And the desserts?? The tres leches is the best I’ve had so far in the world. The flan is insanely delicious and layered without being too much. And they have the best churros I’ve ever eaten. Period. If you want the real deal, come to Loya’s!!!!

I ordered a to-go order via Door Dash in October 2022. Given the great reviews of this place, I was shocked at what I received. I ordered the birria, queso and chips, and the tres leches cake. The tres leches cake smelled like wet socks, and it was immediately clear that it was spoiled. The chips were also completely stale. It’s shocking to me that they sent out food like this. It’s frankly dangerous.

This is a gem of a restaurant. The food is Mexico City style, not Americanized Tex-Mex. Expect perfectly cooked meats and sublime sauces. We ordered steak tacos and the poblano enchiladas. The tacos were excellent with steak, onions and cilantro inside corn tortillas and served with tasty Spanish rice and refried style black beans. The enchiladas were filled with tender chicken and were topped with a great tomatillo based sauce and included the same beans and rice but also a palate cleansing cucumber, onion and tomato salad. Simple decor but authentic Mexican food. Go.

Pretty cool place. Fairly new. Some nice decorations. There are some parking spots in front as well as street parking. It was fairly empty when I went. Staff was friendly. Gave us complimentary chips and salsa. They recommended the tamarind drink which was fantastic. tried the tacos and Birria. It was all great! Staff was attentive too. Would highly recommend!
