When I saw this place online I was super excited, I love elotes! Id seen all the good reviews and was ecstatic to try them (I’d been waiting since Tuesday ) Well imagine my disappointment when I tried their food. It wasn’t bad but it wasnt amazing; it was okay. Spent $15 for two tacos and an elote. The banh mi tacos failed to taste like banh mi, ( the meat was tough and chewy, not at all like a traditional banh mi) and as tacos they lacked flavor. I got the traditional elote which again is okay, their only salsa for the elote was Valentina and tapatío :/ (iykyk) If you’re looking for ACTUAL traditional elotes I would recommend Garibaldi Bazaar. Not a terrible experience the lady at the counter was super nice and helpful. Just don’t think I’ll be coming back for elotes, or tacos.

Loved everything purchased: pork belly traditional elote, and rattlesnake. So so good! Everything was cooked perfectly and the owners are just sweethearts! Welcomed in even though it was very close to closing time- thank you! Will def be back!

Locura had been on my radar for some time before visiting over the past weekend. I was impressed with the quality of the food, its presentation, and service. I ordered the pork belly and the lemon pepper elote. Both were well seasoned and satisfying, so much so that I ate most of the pork belly in the car. Locura might be off the beaten path for some, especially when it comes to culinary exploration, but I encourage everyone to give it a try. I look forward to seeing what Laura and Mel create with this space. (By the way they’re also on Uber Eats!)

New place in West Dallas, Locura is a fabulous spin on Mexican food. They over SEVEN types of elotes and one rotating special elote on the weekends. I had both the pesto elote and the truffle elote, both excellent options. Flavorful without over powering the sweet corn flavor. These are FRESH corn on the cobs, not canned. The Pozole Frito Pie is another clever take on mixing Mexican flavors (pozoloe) with American classics (Frito pie). The pork is tender and flavorful. However, my opinion is that the true STAR at present are the fried pork belly bites! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, they are cooked to order and served with a bright, herbaceous dipping sauce that is the perfect counter to the rich, decadent pork belly. If you are a vegetarian, grab and elote, some ribbon salad and the blistered shishito peppers. There’s a little something here for everyone. It’s a takeaway place, so run in, grab food and have a picnic.

Wow! I was actually looking for the old Trompo taco when I stumbled upon this place and I couldn’t be happier. They recommended the truffle elotes and my wife and I loved it, as well as the pork quesadilla. The highlight of the meal for me was the green pico…the perfect addition to the quesadilla, with a strong and delicious salt and lime flavor. Well done! We’ll be back.

The service was super friendly, and the food was incredibly delicious and interesting- the cuisine was reminiscent of adventurous chef-driven restaurants I’ve visited in Mexico. I loved the super simple “de la calle” style here and will definitely return for the extremely reasonably priced small plates.

This place is seriously awesome. The pork belly is my favorite but I also love the elotes, especially the truffle elote. My wife and I eat here quite frequently and it never disappoints.
