Moving over a Covid-era review from Yelp:

I am a pretty big fan of Korean food. During Covid, we’ve been following all of the guidelines and have not been eating out very much at all. It’s only in the last few weeks that we’ve been adding 1-2 meals a week from “out” to our lockdown routine.

The choice for the weekend was Korean and Tony’s was a new place to try. They are basically at 141 & Olive and located inside an Asian market (look for the signs).

Between chatting with friends in the parking lot and driving home, the food was probably 45-minutes removed from cooking by the time we ate it and I don’t think it suffered hardly at all. Here’s what we had and some thoughts:

General note: healthy portions for the price and everything tasted/looked/felt very fresh.

Kimchi fried rice – my first time trying the dish and I was not a fan. Sadly, as I only have one data point, I cannot comment on how good their version is compared to others.

Mandu – those things probably were capable of melting most of the layers of skin off the roof of my mouth when we picked them up but after a 45-minute wait they were still warm and crispy enough to come across as a great choice. In general, deep-fried foods don’t seem to travel or reheat well but that wasn’t an issue as the whole order was consumed at the first sitting.

Pan-fried duk bok gi – absolutely delicious! I’ve only ever had this dish in the spicy red sauce so this was a new flavor profile. Somehow there was still a little heat (a good thing!) in the dish even without the sauce. Think crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside with enough sesame seeds to lightly infuse that flavor. We attempted to reheat the next day with limited success.

Beef bulgogi – the star of the meal! They slice their beef really thin…exactly how I like it! Marinated to perfection so the dish both tasted and smelled exactly as expected. I’ve eaten a fair amount of bulgogi, both here and on the peninsula, and would rank their dish in the top-ten of all bulgogi I’ve eaten in the last 35+ years. I enjoyed the caramelization of the meat and translucence of the chopped onion pieces. The flavors were bold and the texture was the right mix of sticky rice, slightly crispy seared beef, cooked onions, etc. I also appreciated the fact the onion was chopped as opposed to slivered because the ratio on my fork made more sense that way. We reheated the leftovers for lunch and the dish was just as yummy the next day, if not more so.

A real winner of a dinner, even after a 45-minute delay between cooking and eating.

Amazing Korean street food spot tucked inside the grocery store! I ordered the beef bulgogi and dduk bokki, both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The store was very nice and staff was friendly and welcoming, and it was convenient to grab a few groceries while I was there. Such a great experience, will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed the food – it was cooked to perfection, with balanced flavors that hit the mark. The beef bulgogi was seasoned beautifully, though I would’ve loved a bit more green onion for extra freshness. The rice-to-protein ratio was just right, and the portion sizes were generous. You could easily make two meals out of it.

The crispy pan-fried dukbokki had a lovely sesame flavor, with a perfectly chewy interior and a crisp exterior, making them an excellent snack or appetizer. I also appreciated the thoughtful packaging – the perforated box kept them from getting soggy, which was a great touch. The side of kimchi was delicious, adding just the right amount of tang and spice.

I ordered lunch takeout, which took about 40 minutes to prepare. No complaints—it’s a busy time, and the food is absolutely worth the wait. Can’t wait to try more from their menu!

This was our first visit. We couldn’t dine in because that part of the restaurant was closed and we paid for our order upfront at the grocery store’s cashier. It took a while but everything was worth the wait!

We ordered jajangmyeon, beef bulgogi and crispy tteokbokki. These were delicious!! The portions for each dish was enough for two of us since they were heavy and filling.

We will definitely be ordering online and have it delivered next time we have Korean food cravings.

Tony’s K Food is my favorite restaurant ever. I’m so happy I found them. They’re literally a hole in a wall inside of a grocery store that is equally as amazing. I have not tried a single menu item that I don’t love. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Any time I can recommend this place, I always do!

I just started working in the area and had never tried Korean food before. I found Tony’s K Food on Google maps and decided to give it a go. I’m so glad I did! I tried the beef bulgogi and the crispy duk bok ki. Both were excellent! I’m looking forward to going back and trying other interesting menu options. 10/10 would recommend!

I ordered the crispy spicy rice cakes and the spicy udon noodle stir-fry. Everything was nice and flavorful! I’ve read other reviews that the spicy rice cakes were super spicy, but they were perfect amount of spice for me (did I mention that they had a lot of flavor as well??). Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The spicy stir-fry udon was also very tasty. Like the rice cakes, perfect amount of spice for me with also good flavor. 10/10 would definitely order more food from here!

I am so glad this place opened up! You can order your food, shop for unique Korean groceries while you wait then eat or take your food to go. I was picking a cake up next door and needed groceries and saw the menu and had to order. I got two of my favorite dishes, kimchi fried rice and spicy rice cakes. They made it all the way back home with me (40 minutes) and were still really hot! The food was so delicious and really quenched my hankering for it. Korean food is really special! I highly recommend trying it. They do pickup for Doordash and etc. too. I had some leftovers and they both heated up nicely the next day, I just added a fresh fried egg with salt and pepper on top of the rest of my rice. I can’t wait to go back! Support local/small businesses!!!

Best, most authentic Korean food I’ve had from a restaurant! Super cute and located within an Asian market store. The bulgogi was so nostalgic because it’s just as good as previous meals made by a friend from Korea. My partner who is a self proclaimed kimchi connoisseur said its the best he’s had! We will definitely be returning anytime we’re craving some Korean food!!
