Tried twice, both times only one person working and super slow service. Not worth the stress for water ice. As I’m aware a lot of businesses are having issues finding employees, the main issue I had was the fact the employee stood holding a water ice until the customer came back in to get it instead of putting it on the counter and then moving to the next customer. As a business owner myself, you at least teach the employees you do find to do what they can to keep the line moving not stand with a water ice in your hand for 3 minutes while 20 other people are waiting in line.

rude older man with an attitude running the queue. i wanted a chocolate gelati and i didn’t realize that they didn’t have chocolate water ice, and when i asked for it the older man in the back said “We don’t have chocolate water ice, the water we have is on the board.” with an attitude so I left and went to Dry Dock instead. Writing this review because I have seen other reviews where people have been complaining about him, so my feelings are mutual.

Classic Rita’s product, I wouldn’t go back though. The man in front was very nasty to the younger employees and also rude to a very nice older customer who asked for a flavor they were out of. They don’t fill the large custard cups leaving gaps around the whole cup. My small ice was more quantity.

My son was heat exhausted, so to cheer him up, the woman gave him one surprise gummy bear on top of his water ice- it’s been 3 weeks and he still plays “ice cream” and “puts” one special gummy bear on top. She made a wonderful impression and only added to our love of Cape May.

We tried the Concert Reese’s mudslide, Concrete cookies and cream, and the frozen custard twist. Excellent. It would’ve been 5 stars if they had social distancing lines on the ground and if they took plastic (it was cash only).

Such delicious custard and gelati! Very quick, friendly service too. Always come here when we’re in Cape May.

Rita’s is always good. Everything is fresh and tasty. The new owners take their time to make sure that everything you order is correct, this does make the line take longer than you might think but the service is great when you get to the counter so it More than makes up for a slightly longer wait.
