There is no excuse to serve ROTTEN food. Period. No apologies from the waitress makes it ok. No credit of the food that couldn’t be eaten makes it ok. There’s only 2 scenarios where a plate of salad would be served with significant amounts of rotten leaves.
1. The cook is completely blind.
2. The cook didn’t care at all what he/she was doing.
The appetizer was burned and my fish was served cold. I’m completely shocked. Normally, this place is great. Today, it was horrible and slow.

Just north of Cassopolis MI great place to stop for lunch and or dinner I ordered a Pizza and the wife had the California Club Salad we bout had tea with free refills. Heading back to my hometown, my friends and I debated on where to eat. We saw the restaurant coming up and jokingly said let’s try it but decided it really try it and I’m so glad we did.
The atmosphere was so warm and wonderful. We loved the alcove booths and probably were a bit overly excited. The service was great, the waitress was attentive.
The food was tasty! No complaints from anyone and I’m so happy they had the peanut butter pie, it was so rich with a large helping.
A 30 minute drive from home, my partner agreed we would return again.

When we moved to Dowagiac this was the first restaurant we tried, and were recommended. We moved from an area with a similar sized and ran establishment. What I can say, is this place blew them out of the water. It offers such a wide variety of delicious food. Frog legs are even on the menu, as well as my favorite, the Monte Cristo. I have tried a few different dishes as well as my wife at this point and not one thing has disappointed. In fact it exceeded and smashed my expectations. The inside feels cozy, and seems to attract an older crowd, which in my opinion is better. The only thing I will say they could possibly improve on, is the entry way size, as well as setting up a window or separate area for strictly take out orders. This would greatly streamline their process. Fantastic food, for the perfect price! Bravo.

Mediocre experience at best. Food was served cold and either over or undercooked. Some was sent back only to come back from the microwave. The waitstaff was fine but the kitchen needs to get their act together. Our orders were 2 lemon pepper shrimp, 1 prime rib, and 1 lemon pepper chicken breast.

My prime rib beef sandwich was terrible (tough and au juice was extremely salty) how ever my husband’s pizza was wonderful and other four people’s meals were good… So I’ll pick better next time…

This is a nice clean friendly restaurant that has been here for years. They have great semi-private booths along the walls and standard tables in the middle. They also have a covered porch with nice views of the surrounding wetlands. We go here every summer and have always had a great meal and a good time. It is worth the trip.

Ordered the Louisiana Steak Salad & it was delicious. Made to fill you up without being stuffed, the seasoned potatoes were on point. I’ve had this dish a few time & will continue to get it.
