Wow!! I happened to come across this BBQ place in Hannibal while searching for one this afternoon and boy am I ever glad I did. James, the owner, is such a kind and generous man. He knows his stuff. The ribs are tender and have great flavor, the brisket has a great Smokey flavor and the BBQ sauce makes it. I can’t wait to go back and try more of his different options. I HIGHLY recommend visiting him and tasting for yourself.

Wow! Are you looking for some genuine BBQ? Go pay a visit to Cadillac James and the team at Lil Ol Hickory Hut! We were passing through on our way back to MN and decided to give the Hickory Hut a try. The best I’ve had in a long time! Found out that James is from St. Paul MN. Truly a small world! Thank you Cadillac James and team for warm hospitality and some fantastic food! We’ll see you on our way back next year!!

AMAZING BBQ!! Also Cadillac James is the real deal, and a super nice guy. We’ve travelled all across the country and had our fair share of barbecue, and this place is easily one of the best we’ve ever had. The dry rub wings were incredible- perfectly cooked and amazingly seasoned. Ribs were perfectly sauced and cooked to perfection, came off the bone easy but didn’t fall off all sloppy-like when someone over cooks them. Pulled pork was also incredible, on some nice bread as well! All the sides were amazing, especially the sweet potatoes and baked beans.

Got a brisket sandwich and baked beans on Thursday, it was awesome! Friday I went back and got 3 orders of ribs and an order of rib tips. Sides are awesome as well. I don’t even like cooked cabbage but I loved the cabbage greens.

First, the owner is amazing! My husband ordered the wings, which were so favorable! The seasoning was perfect! I was lucky enough to get a Hot Link left over from lunch, thank God!! Best ever! I’ve had plenty of them, and this was by far the best! Now, for the BBQ Sauce…best we have ever had! Seriously! We’ve had lot’s of BBQ in Mississippi and the south, and Lil O blew them away! Also, the sides are really good! We got the cabbage greens, baked beans, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese which are right on par! It’s definitely a must try!!! You won’t be disappointed!

Stopped in with the family after a long day exploring the area. The owner offered us samples when we arrived. The rub on the chicken wings is amazing. i ordered the brisket with greens and sweet potatoes. Large chunks of brisket on wonderful hard roll All very delicious. Cadillac James is a great chef and host.

We stopped in today while passing through the area, heading back home to MN. The reviews were spot on and the food was great! LOVED the dry rub wings, the ribs delicious and all the sides were tasty too. We sat and visited with the owner for a while. Such a great and personable guy. It’s cool he developed and uses his own seasoning! Next time we pass through we will definitely go back.

Cadillac James is such a great guy! The food was amazing, best brisket tacos I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend the potato salad and mac & cheese along with the ribs as well. The sides were very fresh and tasted homemade.
