Gave it a shot after being pretty disappointed with the food everyone kept suggesting in the area. Started with a Bloody Mary which was very good. Moved on to the raw oysters and the grilled oysters they were known for. Pleasantly surprised how tasty it was. Based on that, we had to try the fried chicken… some of the best we have ever had. Chicken was moist and the skin was crunchy. The server Sean was great, hats off to you Sean. He gave us more suggestions that were in the area for dinner and told us where not to go. If you are a tourist or from out of town, save yourself the trip of going anywhere else, this is the spot.

Great late lunch! First time at Leon’s! Our server Ruth S. suggested we try different kinds of raw oysters. So we tried their house oysters and the half moon oysters. All were great! We also loved the fried chicken (super crispy on outside and moist on inside), hush puppies with honey butter, scalloped potatoes and black eyed pea salad! Loved sitting outside too!

Upon arrival into Charleston we came here. No reservation but only wait 20 minutes and were able to sit at the patio with big fans.

First time here. We got seated right away, even though they looked very busy. Great service and yummy food. We did get the grilled chicken and grilled fish. Both were great and tasteful. Loved the cucumber salad.

This restaurant has great atmosphere. The fried chicken is excellent, as was the crispy fried shrimp sandwich. We had the black eyed peas, was another hit, and the cucumber salad was a home run. Our server did a first class job. We will make it a regular stop from now on.

It’s fried chicken and oysters y’all! What’s not to love? Super casual, laid back restaurant. We ordered oysters and fried chicken because, well, duh. We loved every bite! …and I devoured my fried chicken, like every good southern girl should. Delicious.

We loved Leon’s! We had a dozen oysters and two sandwiches- one fried oyster roll and one fried shrimp roll. The bread was toasted so nicely and melted in our mouth. So yummy! We spent around $100 for dinner, one water and one Diet Coke-sodas do NOT get free refills so we paid $6 for two sodas. Definitely a place to checkout if you’re in Charleston but might be out of your price range if you’re not looking to spend around 100 on dinner for two without any cocktails.

Such a great experience and great food! We sat on the outdoor patio and were greeted right away. I had my dog with me and there was a water bowl by the table for her. Our waitress Casey was the best! I got the garden cooler which so refreshing and delicious. The hush puppies were very good and the honey butter was delectable! I ordered the fried oyster sandwich with the cucumber salad as a side and it did not disappoint! When looking at the sandwich I thought I would not be able to finish it but it was actually such a light and enjoyable sandwich. The roll it was served on was not heavy at all. It was light and fluffy and tasted very good. The friend oysters were absolutely delicious! The comeback sauce that is served on top was a bit spicy for me but that is just because I normally do not eat anything spicy ever. Casey kept checking in to see how everything was and was also knowledgeable on the menu when I asked a question about the sides. She also brought a small pupcup for my dog at the end of the meal which was a greatly appreciated! I highly recommend stopping by Leon’s while in Charleston!

Yep, it is that good. This is the third time we have tried to get in because there is always a line. We came in a 11:00 AM sharp to get a seat and we are so glad that we did. Friendly service and delicious non fussy food. The chicken sandwich is a solid experience. We also enjoyed the soft serve ice-cream with sprinkles. Fun and casual atmosphere. There were locals and tourists. Grilled oysters were delicious! Cucumber salad is a perfect pick for the Charleston heat as it was cold and refreshing. That chicken sandwich bite is memorable, soft bun, crunchy chicken with the right amount of thickness for a perfect bite, with coleslaw and pickles. The brussels sprouts were tasty too! Go and enjoy yourself!

Awesome time at Leon’s. Fried chicken sandwich was delicious and my wife loved the wood grilled oysters. Pimm’s Cup was also great! And great service, as well. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in Charleston.
