Leaf Eater is inside the Post Coffee/Rino. Took some work to locate it. I didn’t see a sign outside or inside. This place is multiple businesses under one roof. Order Leaf Eater food from the bartender. It’s all vegan. You’re also pretty much serving yourself from that point on. I super don’t want to beat this place up, but there is so much room for improvement here it’s concerning. However, I really want to rate the place higher. The place is in a great neighborhood with a great product crammed next to other complimentary things, ice-cream, coffee, bar, live music, semi patio, etc. This place screams 8th Street Austin. The fact that I couldn’t find the place and there is no signage will kill the place. I wandered around inside before finding a menu on the bar on green construction paper that said Leaf Eater on it. Anyway, we ordered a couple of burger combos and a fried Mac and cheese app. Price was great and cook time was great too. The burgers were awesome. The Mac and cheese app stopped my brain. I hate Mac and cheese. This was terrific. It was like a giant fried ravioli in a crunchy beer batter. Just great. Our soda was horribly flat, fries were cold, 5 out of 6 of the ketchup bottles that we found were empty, tables and chairs wobble. I could go on and on, but I don’t want to. I really like what was going on here. There were no carry outs or pick ups while we were there. One other table ordered food. The bar was half full on a Saturday night at 6pm. Whoever is running this place is not tuned into it. I don’t believe the place is sustainable at the current level of attention. I hope I’m wrong. Me and the other 7…yes that’s right, 7 reviews really enjoyed the food and vibe.

I am not vegan. I love a good burger and chicken and cheese. But when I was at a show at the Rino a few days ago, I ordered the Buffalo “chicken” sandwich and fries and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. For real. Crunchy, spicy, well-balanced, fresh, delicious. And the fries… oh my lord they are impossibly good. I don’t know what black magic they’re doing I that kitchen, but if this is vegan, I could give it a go.

Leaf Eater is one of my favorite spots. The food is great (and vegan), not just great vegan food. Full service bar onsite too so you can enjoy a cold beer or a cocktail with your eats. Live music many nights too!

I have never EVER EVER in my life made a review !! But when I tell you I have tried several vegan burgers around town and store bought . THE BURGER I ORDERED FROM HERE THROUGH UBER OMG!!! 100/100 I ordered the “San Bernardino burger” and the clown sauce that comes on it was perfect. I was a little upset it didn’t come with fries based off how it was portrayed on the app but I would definitely order here again if not come in and dine in !!! I don’t have a picture to upload because I devoured the burger lol

All vegan but you can’t tell. This was a delicious burger with a full flavor. Their fries rival Arby’s in taste, but with a hint of sweet sugar and cut into waffles. Delicious!

Leaf Eater is located at The Rino and serves incredible vegan food. From various burgers, Dino nuggets, chicken sandwiches to perfectly seasoned waffle fries, there is something everyone will enjoy. Whether you’re vegan or just curious to try something new, I definitely recommend stopping by. Prices are very reasonable and workers are very friendly!

Food was PHENOMENAL and extremely reasonably priced! The Mac and Cheese bites are worth gold Small interior and slightly confusing for newbies. No greeting or acknowledgment, but figured out to order at the bar in the back and self serve utensils, water, bussing. Absolutely will be back and recommend stopping in!
