Nice selection of items on the menu. They offer several things that other restaurants don’t have. We were excited to see they had the guava Jarritos. Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our sever was very friendly and attentive. I would recommend giving them a try!

My husband and I drive over from Galesburg(15-20 mins) for the best Mexican you can get. We love this place. Aurora and family always stop to say hi and have a chat with us. The queso I thunk is house made and AMAZING. Tried places in Galesburg and they just don’t compete. If you want Mexican, come here. I always get the supremo fajita nachos that come with steak, chicken, and shrimp and almost always need 2 boxes to bring my food home.

A hidden jewel in Monmouth, off the beaten path you have to plan to go there. As it is not on a main street you’ll need to search for it, once you do you’ll be glad you did. The menu is very extensive, the drinks and the food are top notch. We travel quite a way to go there sure wish it was closer. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Off the beaten path you will see a deep blue building. We were greeted by someone sitting behind the counter and told we could sit anywhere. We took a few minutes to look over the menu which was mostly in spanish (names) but what the item consisted of was in English.
The lady who brought our drinks answered our questions and informed us that our waitress would be out to help us shortly
I ordered the street tacos and my sister, the tostados. We also got some queso. My tacos were good. A little on the dry side but adding the lime and pico made them much better.
My sister loved the tostados.
The waitress was very friendly, just absent, for the most part, til we were done.

went here for lunch the other day and was the opposite of disappointed. they claim to be the best in town, and by God, they weren’t lying. the food was absolutely delectable, the environment is clean, comfortable and cozy, and the service was top tier. the lady that served us was fantastic, very quick to get us what we needed and very friendly. if you’re put off by the prices at all, let me just tell you it’s 1000% worth it. that $15 chimichanga you get will be the best use of $15 you’ll make all week. not only was it delicious, but the portions are generous, and as an added bonus, it reheats well. not that they can exactly control that, but I was really happy to discover it. if I wasn’t just passing through town, I’d be eating here every week. highly recommend.

Very good place!! I’m new to town and I’ve been trying some places out, this was the second Mexican restaurant I’ve been to so far and it was great. The waitress was very friendly, the food was outstanding, the rice and beans were pretty good, and the wait time wasn’t long. I will say it’s in a interesting spot and parking might be challenging if it gets busy. But I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Definitely would recommend

I came upon this place and placed an order for a rib eye steak with shrimp.
The waitress was excellent, but the food was not.
When she saw that I only consumed the shrimp, she asked for only 16 dollars, and I gave her a 5 tip. Money wasn’t an issue. When I left, the manager slammed on my car window and told me to return the food immediately if I dont like it the next time I visited the location and used a racist term that I will not mentioned. I assume the owner is unaware of the poor customer service skills this so-called manager demonstrates. If you don’t want a slum experience, avoid this place. The woman wearing shorts is the manager that her car.

Best Mexican food in Monmouth. Have eaten MANY things off of their menu and not one has ever disappointed. Honestly, not only the food but the staff are wonderful people. If you would like great food, El Navigante will not disappoint.
