The waitress was not friendly at all. I don’t think i ever saw her smile, must not have been a good day for her. It took a very long time to be served our food and the place wasn’t that busy. We were hungry and filled up on chips. I had the mole poblano — the flavor was very good. Hubby was not impressed with his burrito. Salsa and the guacamole salad were a bit too spicy. We’ll stick with our local place next time.

As a Texan, I have not been impressed with any of the Tex-Mex style places up in this area. La Tolteca is the best I have found. I really like their beans (this is a compliment of the highest order where I’m from), horchata, and chile verde. The staff are so incredibly kind and attentive. If you’re going to indulge in a margarita, we like to do the jumbo Texas ones. They’re top shelf and don’t give this certified granny a hangover!

I’m rating this a 5 but my full accurate review would probably be a 3: First, it’s a very typical Mexican restaurant that you find in just about every small city. That can be good or bad depending on your preference. However, it’s priced way above it’s quality range. Second, everything is good but nothing is great. We ordered steak tacos, a quesadilla, and a beef steak adobado. It was good, but again, not great. Third, we were left alone a little too much. To where we were never able to ask for napkins and refills on drinks were way overdue. Regardless of all that, we left satisfied and full, the place was clean, and staff was friendly. If you’re the type just looking for a night out of the house, it’s a “5” but if you’re looking for great Mexican food, it’s a “3”

I always like local and authentic Mexican restaurants. This one exceeded my expectations. Was in for dinner and had the Chicken Mole and I was not disappointed. Lots of flavor the mole tasted great and the guacamole on lettuce was good. Service was efficient and I got out of there with change from my $20. Obviously they don’t waste money on furnishings but it was clean and comfortable.

Very disappointing and rude staff. I ordered queso to go for $4 and it was not even good. As seen in the photo, it was a tiny amount and did not even come with chips or salsa. When I asked, I was told it would be an extra $4.50. Seriously? This is a first for any Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to and will never go back!

I’ve been here twice and I did not post a review after the first visit as I was not impressed with the food and wanted to give them another chance. I’m glad I did because my dinner last night was very good. I’m looking forward to going back again. Specifically I had the Los Amigos special and it was quite tasty. The others I was with also enjoyed their food as much. Our server was friendly and efficient earning him a 30% tip.

The service was ok. The chips and salsa were better then alot of mexican places. I ordered shrimp enchiladas and they were kind of over cooked. I was also bummed they didn’t have black beans.
